ChiefUserAndrew8
Hey all, New to framing design here, reading a book so I'm still learning. I've used the auto generate tool. My questions are as follows: Is my framing structurally sound? Is the auto frame tool reliable? 3. Is the above standard for studs under openings, or is the auto framing just stupidly keeping 16 o.c.? 4. The above photos are why I'm originally questioning the auto-frame tool. What am I doing wrong? What tips do you have for how to build out my framing better? Why is there a gap for the exterior framing of the loft walls? I've attached the drawing so you can all take a deeper look. All help is appreciated! shed.plan
SNestor
Is the "auto-frame" tool reliable? Well yes...if all you want is too see is the framing. Is it "smart"...absolutely not. You will almost always have to manually edit the framing if you are concerned about making sure it's structurally accurate. The software does NOT calculate "loads" or "spans"...it's just placing objects (studs, joists, headers etc) that you control the size and spacing of.
