Kellmoo
This is very odd. I have imported a PDF blueprint and successfully traced all walls doors etc. But now I want to turn-off that background layer and it's nowhere to be found under "Layer Display Options". I think that I'm loosing my mind LOL
Chopsaw
The easy way to do that is to use " Active Layer Display Options " and set up the Control Options to Not " Show all Layers ". Then when you select an item it it will display the applicable layers. I believe the default layer for PDF's in X15 is " Picture/PDF Boxes ". Kellmoo
Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure I follow you. I don't see how I can setup the control options to not show all layers. This is what my menu shows:

Kellmoo
Oh I see the Gear Icon symbol now. But the don't show all layers was already un-checked. "Then when you select an item it it will display the applicable layers" There are so many layers shown, so I sorted by alphabet and looked for "Picture/PDF Boxes" and can't see this option. This is what is see:
Chopsaw
Ok it looks like you have the setup correct. Did you select the PDF ? Also what version are you using ?
Chopsaw
Previous versions used the " CAD, Default " layer for imported PDF's by default.
Kellmoo
I sorted the options alphabetically and in my screenshot there is nothing called PDF. Should it look like the following example:
Chopsaw
No luck selecting the PDF in plan view ? Perhaps the layer is locked ? Depending on what version you are using see the two options I listed above.
Kellmoo
I using Chief Architect Premier X14 How do I select the PDF, using the mouse pointer like this? But then what do I do next, press the delete key and delete it?
Solution Chopsaw Posted August 4, 2023 Solution Share Posted August 4, 2023 Yes you can select and delete but your original question was to turn off the layer as it may be useful again later on. If you dock the " Active Layer Display Options " it should tell you what layer the PDF is on when selected. X14 uses the " CAD, Default " layer for imported PDF's. Note that Eric posted an X15 screen shot above. Be aware that there may be plenty of other things on the CAD, Default layer so that is why they changed it for X15. Kellmoo
Ahh okay now i see it. Thank you SOLVER. So after I selected the background PDF that I imported...I then clicked again on "Active Layer Display Options" and now I see it!!!!!! But for some strange reason its not called PDF it's called "CAD, Default". Thank you for helping me understand what Chopsaw was trying to tell me.
