Blue screen of Windows death: X15 when rendering goes lock-up and Windows shuts down

This, if PBR or raytrace.  Windows locks it up if the PBR or raytrace view is up for a few minutes.  I combat this by exporting pics quickly.

 

Should I be contacting tech support?  I have Windows 10.

My best guess based on what you've described is that your machine is overheating.  Chief really shouldn't be able to generate a BSOD even if it wanted to.  It's unlikely we'll be able to diagnose a problem with Chief here.
