PDF file size

We have noticed a big increase in file sizes in PDF format since upgrading to X13.

We include a number of live views on layout sheets that we have set to "update on demand" rather than a static image as we update the design frequently. We suspect this may have something to do with the problem, and are wondering if there are setting to the export resolutions for these images that we can change to help keep the overall file sizes down in layout when PDF printed?

We are PDFing them at 144dpi currently but the files are still large so need to find a solution in chief setting. Any suggestion here would be much appreciated. We don't want to have to keep relying on 3rd party PDF reducing software to achieve this as it's too time consuming.

For the reason you describe, i've gone to sending images instead of live views to layout for 3d camera. PIA to update though, as you have to resend  constantly. I assume you have elevations as plot lines?

I have yet to find a nice solution other than lowering the DPI, as you have. I did put in a suggestion that the live camera be configurable to a specific DPI which matches the send as image. i.e. if I can send an image to layout and it is a smaller PDF, then the live camera should be able to adjust itself to do the same.
