Attaching A Floor Part Way Up Long Wall Studs

Hello.  I'm new to this software and am using Home Designer Pro 2015.  I want to build a small cabin with a gable roof.  Instead of building normal side walls with the second floor joists resting on them, I would like to use 14' studs and attach the floor joists 4-5 feet from the top.  Seems like that would give me more rigid walls for the upper level.  Does anyone know the best way to do that and then how to draw it in the software?  External Front.pdf

I attached a picture of my first attempts.  I still have to add upper level gable end windows, add a gable roof over the screen porch, etc. but want to get the walls right before I go any further.
