Referencing multiple external plan files with differing orientations

Recommended Posts

Is there anyway to reference more than one external plan file into your current plan and have each reference block be orientated differently?

I'm currently doing a multi unit development with several unit blocks, the unit blocks all have a different orientation to north.

I'd prefer to keep each unit block in it's own plan file and have a site plan where i can co-ordinate the developed project.

Please update your signature to show the Chief version -- X10, X11. That's really the key bit of information needed here on the forum.

I don't believe you can do what you would like.

Consider that you can make a symbol of an entire structure (unit block), then place that symbol into a plan containing your site plan.

I am not 100% sure of what you want to do.

But with X11, we can now reference external plans in both 2D and 3D.

Are you trying to use 1 floor plan and reference it multiple times at different orientations in a master plan?

To do that, I think you would need to have a separate plan for each block (copy, paste, rotate) and then reference each plan in your master plan.

I don't know of any way to rotate a reference plan without rotating the original.
