How to lower the roofline on dormer window?

Hi,
 

I am trying to lower the fascia on these dormer windows so they are not so high. I have figured out the fascia and trim part but the gap between the trim and roofline doesn't drop down when I change the fascia heights. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? 

I am brand new to CA so please explain like I'm 5.

You actually need to move the roof planes in the "z" direction to where you want them using the transform-replicate tool, if they are manually drawn. If automatic, use the dormer DBX to lower.
