chiefcraft
My question is whether I can change the direction of the wood grain displayed in a raytrace generated image for the material of a polyline solid? I'm creating solid wood features like benches from scratch but the final raytrace image displays wood pattern sideways and not lengthwise. It looks dumb. I'm pretty sure I can't do anything about it, but......never know. Thanks
chiefcraft
I'll try that
chiefcraft
Tried exploding the box in different faces . Applied natural wood material to individual 'panels.' But grain direction of natural wood always follows same direction in the Raytrace images. Even if I rotate to odd angle like 50Deg. Seems that all wood surfaces with grain/lines, etc., follow same direction in Raytrace. No matter what shape or position of the object. Chief Architect should try to do something about this. It doesn't look realistic in 3D. If there is any possibility of dealing with this now I would appreciate any suggestions. Good day.

It's quite doable. Ray trace of custom door symbol and a couple of pline solids.
