JECORMIER
Hey All- Got a question on roof trusses. In this plan I am trying to truss the roof above the main house. I have set one truss and taken a back clip section of it. It is not laying out how I want it to and I just don't know how to manipulate it to do what I want. It shows the bottom chord continuing on to meet the top chord at the fascia board. What I want is the bottom chord to stop at the bearing wall and the top chord to continue to the fascia board. This is what the "as-built" trusses look like for this project and it will make a difference for the addition's ridge height etc. I have included the plan as well as a picture of the trusses the way I want them to look. Thanks in advance!!!! Justin SIMPSON_TRUSS_QUESTION.zip
DavidJames
Before drawing your roof plane, ensure that you open up the roof plane dbx and check "Trusses (no birdsmouth)." Then when you draw in the trusses, the bottom chord should stop at the top plate.
