  1. I sure hope this isn't the final answer. It's actively asking me if I want to update these views and even though I'm clicking "yes" it's not happening. That doesn't seem like a feature that's working as it should.
  2. This problem only started when we upgraded to X14. Never had this issue with any previous versions.
  3. I'm having an issue with elevations not updating but the scale isn't the problem. When I have a layout open and revise an elevation, even though I'm clicking yes to update after I close it, it's not updating on my layouts. I have to go in and physically hit the button to "Update all views" to have anything actually update. Extremely frustrating. Is anyone else having this issue? I downloaded the update above and it's still not working.
  4. Yikes! We've been using them a ton this past year and never had anything come back more than and 1-2" off. They certainly draw some details oddly, but nothing that has made us think about stop using them. It's such a timesaver. This weird dimension thing is the only annoying thing that occurs sometimes.
  5. Thanks so much for responding everyone. I did go in to look at my active defaults and they're all correct. And yet when I try to Auto NKBA dimensions they're still coming in on the Hvac, Plumbing dimensions.
  6. I'm trying to do Auto NKBA dimensions. On my defaults, that is set to be Dimensions, Kitchen and bath and I can't figure out where they have it set to be on the Hvac, plumbing layer. When we use Canvas, we always import our Saved Plan Views, Layer Sets, and Default sets.
  7. Thanks. Still need help with the original question.
  8. Also, I am using X13. I can't remember how to change my signature.
  9. Good morning. I've been experiencing an issue that mostly seems to arise when we import Canvas files for our as-builts. When I go to shoot an elevation view (while in my NKBA default sets) they want to come in on odd layers. For instance, on this plan today they want to come in on the HVAC, Plumbing layer. I have checked every default that I know of - camera tools, default sets, annotation defaults, etc. and cannot seem to find where it is misfiring. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
  10. Hmm, I've watched some video through NKBA where they happened to be using Chief. Not sure if I've seen the ones put out from Chief. I'll take a look. Thanks!
  11. Yes - correct. I don't want it to pick up the subfloor, which it always does automatically. It's one of many things on a long list of complaints about dimensioning in this program. If I can at least take care of a couple of grievances it would save me a lot of frustration.
  12. Thanks. I've done that and also searched but I'm not seeing where I can change the defaults for those specific things.
  13. On interior elevations for cabinetry, etc.
  14. Good morning, Is there a way to set your dimensions to default to the finished floor & ceiling rather than subfloor?
  15. Hoping someone could please direct me on how to create a roof like this in chief? Thanks!
  16. Good afternoon. Does anyone know how to get rid of the sides of the cabinet showing up on the toe kicks? I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that I can't find. It's a constant annoyance and makes our drawings look messy. Thanks!
  17. Good morning! For some reason, my full camera is now defaulting to the Electrical Set which means my floors and ceilings are missing. Does anyone know where the setting for this is? I've looked all through the annotation defaults and camera view defaults and can't figure it out. Thanks!
  18. Thanks so much for the response; that worked!
  19. Good morning, I was hoping someone could help me with some tips on how to place a sconce on cabinetry? I've tried creating a thin wall, but it's screwing up the cabinetry to either side of the unit.
  20. I figured it out! My FULL camera was defaulting to an electrical set. Thank you though!
  21. Hi all. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but in the last 2 weeks, the floor has begun disappearing from my rooms. It's there in an overview, but not in the camera view? Help!
  22. Thanks for the responses. I originally had it as a siding wall when I sent it to the Cad Detail, but then decided to change it to shingles. I didn't want to have to re-send it and lose the CAD work I had already done. I guess the hole in the poly-line is the best way to go from here? I should add: I don't know how to create a hole in the polyline? I rarely use CAD on Chief because I find it to be awful.
