So I changed out my hard drive to solid state.  The one thing I forgot to do is to export my User Library.  I still have my old hard drive as a F drive.  I got my core and bonus library install but can not seem to find  the user library.  Where is it stored on the hard drive? So I can copy it and transfer to the new.  Thanks for any help

My old hard drive is starting to go.  I am thinking of using a solid state drive for the speed.  Has anyone had experience with this?

Thanks that helped.  It appears that you must add a layer (0") to the ceiling finish and select your user library.  In this case "double knock down".  Just curious why the "bone" color for the walls does not show up in the schedule since it is bone color also and yet the ceiling does. 

Thanks for the response but I do not see the thin layer of paint.  I must be missing something.  I go to the structure tab and uncheck the default and edit the layer and spec "double knock down".  This shows up and the program shows "color-bone" no matter what I chose.  ??????

I am having a problem with the finish schedule.  I have my own finishes in my user library.  One of the items is "Drywall double knock down".  It shows up in the finish schedule BUT CA puts "color bone".  First I don't want any color and can not eliminate this from the ceiling finish in the schedule.  Is there a way to correct this?  I am using X7. 

I have done a lot of timber framing in CA.  The best that I have figured is to make the roof without the framing.  Take an elevation view (or cross section) of it and make a view to cad.  Use this cad to use polylines to make the timber truss and post (entire bent).  Make this into a solid and put it on its own layer.

Thanks.  I knew how in X6 but the new menu in X7 is confusing.  Its very different from previous version. Anyone else having this problem?

How do I show metal studs in the wall?  I am using X7.

I have been using the new X7 beta and was making CAD detail from view and it also made a cad object from the camera icon that was on the plan.  This did not happen in X6.  Is this a bug?

When I print in PDF my fonts and line with arrows are blurred.  The rest of the drawing is clear.  This happens when I print small letter or legal size.  It looks great if I just send to the printer direct from CA, but not as a PDF.  Any answers? Fixes?   Thanks for any response. 

Thanks...I knew there was an easy explanation.   Why doesn't CA make a library item like this?  Soffit lights are so common.

I looked through the library and could not find a spot light that mounts under the eaves.  Is it there?  If not what is the work around?  Thanks

I have a difference in the floor  vs the foundation plan dimension.  I  had the foundation automatically built.  This happens at bay windows only.  When I scroll in to the leader line I notice it is off the bay intersection by one and half inches.  Anyone else had this problem?  Or am I not understanding something?  I have X6

In reading the post about annotation sets and the time saving they have on producing plans, it occurred to me that the ones that come with CA are not enough since everyone seems to make their own.  So could someone weight in on the types of annotation sets they have produced outside of the stock program.  Thanks

Every time I make a kitchen plan I have to make an end panel for the base if the dishwasher is next to the end.  I did not see an end panel in the library.  Does CA have an end panel or do I have to make one each time, or put one in the library. 

You can make your own symbol and have it attach anywhere.  Export the current one and import it with your requirements.

I need to make a sidewalk that has lots of curves and have the radius dim.  I tried the sidewalk tool in terrain but it is limited.  What is the best way you have found to make a complex side walk?   Thanks

I just up graded to Windows 8.1 and found out that my Adobe Acrobat 8 will not work with 8.1.    So I need to get some feed back for a new PDF program.  There are some free but I know nothing as to how they work with CA or other programs.   Thanks
