The New Mac Book Pro has two video cards.
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 4GB of GDDR6 memory and the Intel UHD Graphics 630
The Mac Book Pro will automatically switch between them when it is plugged-in vs running on battery.
I know you turn off "Automatic switching"
In System Preferences > Energy Saver >
Do you see an option for high performance ?

I don't think you can legally as , like Ridge_Runner ( Mike) said above, you are using an upgraded version now , you can check that in your digital locker by clicking the Show Upgraded Version Box at the top.
If the person just wants to "play" in 3D I'd suggest one of the Home Designer Products eg, Pro or Architectural depending on their needs and budget.
M.
Thanks, I think he's going to buy Home Designer Pro

It is possible to give an older version of CA Premier to a close friend.
I own every version since '97 and have many of them on CD including the key codes.
I want to do it by CA's rules.

I opened an older drawing and saved under X12.
It crashed as soon as I clicked on the stairs.
I started a new drawing and no problems with stairs.

One thing I always like about CA is their consistency in Menu Items. Learning new skills and techniques is usually easy because the Menu is similar to the existing program.

I use two 24" W x 21" D cabinets with a 12" W x 21" D drawer base in the center. Then place sinks in the 24" bases.

Every time I use the Full Camera for PBR, the Camera Exposure is 0.18. This results is a dark Rendering and I have to adjust it every time.
How can I change the Default Camera Exposure to something like 0.5 ?
3D > Rendering Techniques > Rendering Options > Physically Based > Camera Exposure

I opened it and viewed it in 3D from several angle, spinning it around. No Problems.

I've done it by opening
Room Specifications > Ceiling > Ceiling Finish > Edit > Ceiling Finish Layer > Insert Above > Thickness (set depth) > Texture > Insulation Air Gap

Thank you Dermot that made a world of difference.
I forgot that framing was on.
I also noticed I had every label under the sun turned on. So, I turned off all labels except window labels and this improved 80%.
I'm glad you're getting the 16" to work better. The 16" MacBook Pro is probably my next purchase in the Spring.
I've been using CA since 1997 and Macs since 2006. I've always had a Mac Pro, not a Mac Book Pro, but the Tower.
The plan is to keep my Tower and use the Notebook on job sites.
I've never had a problem with the Mac OS and CA.

I've owned three Mac Pros. My latest one is the 2017 model with dual video cards.
With a total of 6GB in video memory, the performance for CA is very good.
At $6,000 min. I'll wait until this one is obsolete.
