Yes panel. But it doesn't work with spiral staircases. I'd like to apply cables to spiral staircases like the image attached. Also shows the result in CA

Wow! That did work! I love CA, but sometimes I'm pulling my hair out over the way it will do things you don't want it to do. Thank you, David! Now I just have to go back and adjust the ceiling heights again since the program has now taken 12" out of the ceiling height? (Why, oh why, do you do the things you do CA? You frustrate me sometimes)

It appears by specifying the slab at TOF is what is putting the foundation 12" above the floor. I'f I leave it unchecked it renders below the floor. Which is better but still not correct because the slab is rendering on top of the foundation.

OK that didn't work either. I went in and adjusted the default setting/floors and rooms/current floor and indicated that the floor is supplied by Foundation Room Below. Then also indicated the Floor to SWT (what is SWT?) is set to 0. Also that the floor structure is 4" concrete with the 5/8" floor finish. The result is the foundation walls are rendering at 12" above the floor, which isn't right. The attached file, its in its virgin state before any adjustments for anyone that wants to troubleshoot this one. Lane ResidenceASBUILT.plan The file was done out of office by another draftsman.

Trying something else first and if it doesn't work, I will do. I'm working with someone else's file that is a contract draftsman that I had draw up an as-built.

Wow, that was a fast reply! Thanks! Yes. I've tried both ways checked and unchecked. I'm trying now to go into the defaults and set them first in case its overriding.

Not sure why this is difficult to do. Should be pretty simple. A simple foundation of CMU walls at the default ht set in the program is fine (The footings must be a minimum 18" BG). Its the slab on grade I'm not getting the result I want which is the slab is inside the foundation walls, poured flush with TOF. CA is drawing the foundation 12" above the floor. This is a typical way of slab on grade floors, so why isn't it an option? How can I easily achieve a slab on grade floor that is flush with TOF? SSA was no help at all.

I guess I'm asking about ALDO. I have opened and closed CA and ALDO. I can see the layer info in the Status bar of course, but its faster for me to turn off the displayed layer if I can just click on the object and then uncheck the display when the layer isolates instead of scrolling to find the layer its on. I'm sure its just under a setting or preference somewhere.

I've inadvertently done something I'm not able to figure out how to reverse back to its default. In the layer control box, when no object is selected, you see all the layers in the layer display options. Then when you select a single object in the drawing, just the layer(s) would then show in the box, isolating that objects information. Well that feature is no longer happening and I haven't figured out how to turn that default back on. I really prefer while I'm working to know what layer an object is on just by selecting it instead of having to open the object to find out. I'm sure its something so simple to turn back on, but I'm not seeing it. Any help is appreciated!

I've drawn walls that show by default, the drywall and other exterior finishes. For some reason, now they are gone and I don't know what I've done to turn them off or hide them. An accidental keystroke or what? The "wall layers" is showing as displayed, but the exterior lines of the walls in the plan are not showing. Just the framing and the color of the walls by default. How do I turn the lines back on back on?

I use the Leica Disto e7100i, the one they actually recommend. However, it RARELY will input the info via Bluetooth. It says connected but will not input the measures, no matter which device I use with Room Planner. I know it's not the LEICA because I use it with other programs and the bluetooth works just fine. The program drives me bananas that most of the time because I'm forced to enter dimensions manually which doubles the time it takes.

Unfortunately, the Bonus Metal Library doesn't have Shiny Copper, just hammered, heated, ground and brushed. Why not shiny? It's used on gutters, roofs and other building elements. We need shiny!

I'm somewhat stumped why this isn't working. I'm trying to create shiny copper on a hood over a range. I've used "shiny copper" as the material and have even changed the material properties to be "shiny metal" for the ray trace. I just cant get it to render shiny, its just flat. Suggestions please?

I have a 4000sf floor plan that is really cutup from another draftsman. The entire plan was drawn with a 9' plate height/ the default setting. How do I change it so all rooms are 8' without having to go room to room. I could not find under preferences. How can it be done to the entire floor plan?

I'm working on a refugee project where a client of mine has come up with a system for refugee camp to erect simple dome structures for habitation. I'm frustratingly trying to get CA to create the shape of the structure to reflect what my clients system shows which is a oblate ellipsoid which provides better headroom and a lower ceiling at the peak. I'm close but its not exact. I've attached images of what I've done, which looks like a half a perfect sphere and what it's really supposed to look like. If anyone can get the dome of the roof to follow more of an oblate ellipsoid shape, I would greatly appreciate any insight on how to get the program to do this. The best I can figured out how to do is a half sphere.

IMO I think the "round pier" and "square pad" features should be allowed to be used under any beam that is drawn using the floor/ceiling beam tool. PITA to have to draw a pad and then having to draw a post on top of that, and adjust both heights and depths of both so its correct. 10 min vs 10 seconds.

I'm working with an as-built structure, circa 1900s, where I'll be drawing the remodel, a room addition that includes the existing attic space and expansion of the attic over the new room. I'll have to include new dormers in the attic as well. It is my belief that the attic floor is suspended/attached to the inside of the existing walls. The "bench seating" below the windows at either end, support this theory.My dilemma is I'm not sure what the best way to approach drawing this so that I have my drawings systematically working with me instead of against me which I found sometimes happens.The thing is the exterior walls look 10' tall and inside ceiling ht is 8'.I can either draw the house with 10'+ walls which is where the roof rafters sit and figure out how to drop the attic floor below TOW so the ceiling height on the main level is 8' -OR- I can draw the exterior walls at 8' w/ short walls on then on top of the attic floor above (approx. 18"), which I'm not entirely sure if the exterior will look right if I go that direction. Either way, I would truly appreciate a CA guru to look at what I have already and make any suggestions on how they would go about creating the drawing.At this point I'm holding off doing the roof until I start the walls off in the right direction. BTW FYI- I will be doing the sections and elevations in AutoCAD after I export those views as a DWG and then cleanup the linework. The main reason I need this to work right is for the 3D images, both interior and exterior, as well as the stairs have to work out.

Would be nice to have a wall type designed for this program. That's a lot of steps to make a wall look like stacked logs.
