  1. Haha actually not like any of them, my main focus is how the rail wraps with the stair. Just pulled these from google to show how they are stacked

There are two variables I am concerned with...

one being my first floor height is different from the second floor height, so obviously ill have to change some numbers.  And second the base in which the stairs start are different, the second floor stair starts about a foot back from the base of the first floor stair.

Tried to attach the plan, but it is to big to upload

  2. Hello All,

Trying to stack stairs from first to second floor, then second to third, with a continuous railing - as attached in the pictures. When I attempt to do so, I can't ever get the railings to attach

Looking for some input on the how to

    Thanks as always

  3. Any thoughts on how to achieve the change of material between windows? Poly solids? Just wanted to put it out "on the line" to see if there was a better/faster way.

Attached is a photo of the existing home

    Thanks!

  4. hello all,

I manually built my foundation walls, and just as I finished...realized I had forgotten my PT sill plates under the floor joist/on top of the foundation wall.

I can manually add this plate by dropping my foundation walls 1.5" and inserting the plate to fill the void.  HOWEVER, then the wall does not recognize the manually added PT sill plate and stops the sheathing and siding 1.5" short of where I need it to be.

My question is... can I do anything to have chief recognize this manually added PT plate as the "sill plate" that chief would have auto added if I wasn't being dumb

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks for the feed back

yes Mike, that's where I am at now, after trying to adjust the smaller manual roofs to be aligned, soffits didn't match up with each other, and the trusses would still poke thru.

Joey, I just tried what you recommended, however, when I turn on auto roofs it deletes and re builds the other manual roofs I've built... which is all of them haha

if you guys have time, I have attached the plan... feel free to have a look

don't mind the misplaced foundation - it's still in the works!

  6. Hello all,

Trying to manually build a floating, faux, decorative, what ever you may call it, DORMER on top of a trussed roof system. I want the gable wall of the dormer to extend up from the wall below and have the baselines and facias the same height.  Having some trouble with trimming the trusses below the floating dormer, where the existing roof line will break to accept the roofline of the floating dormer. Attached is a picture of what I am shooting for.

Ive searched and searched for tutorials, however, have come up dry

If anyone knows of a good video tutorial or how to achieve this... lemme know!
