  1. I agree with Joey. I think i would not want my sketch plans to be mixed in together with my Working Drawing / Condocs. A full set of working drawing should be kept as a full set. A set of sketch plan should be kept separate. different trades can have their respective pages that is relevant to them so that when communicating to them have the same page reference number. I use diff layouts at diff stages and i save the files as diff names so i don't mess up sketch plans and finished models. Frank
  2. Sorry Mick Did not see your reply till now. The T120 is capable of A1. But disregarding what size, the printable margin should be the same on A1 or A2. What was surprising is how BIG it is. As i mentioned, on X5 (same computer), the margin appears correctly for different printer - i have an old Epson 3000, a newer Epson WF7510 and this HP T120. The printable area margin are just totally off. I undated X7 from beta to full version, but it's still the same. AND i am surprised other people's did not have this problem. Regards Frank
  3. Yes. In Layout view, it should be 1:1 That margin is big. and no matter what printer i selected - HP A4 document printer, or Epson A3 printer or HP T120 A1/A2 printer, that margin remains the same, does not seem my X7 read the printer driver info. As i said, i dl the full X7, installed it, but that still remains the same, AND i do not know any one of you have the same prob. So... seems to be my system. But then... my X5 is doing the layout proporly. I am stumped. Frank
  4. MAN. There is some serious problem about attaching files. Sorry about that. hope this will do.
  5. Graeme and Mick Thank you for your reply. I really do not know why it is not getting the printer margin from the print driver. My X5 do. I have dl and installed the current X7. it is still showing a large margin on all sides of the paper no matter how big a sheet or printer for view. Hopefully my attachement works this time. See in the attached image of Drawing sheet setup, i got the T120, then the margins defaults to those values when i click 'Populate from Printer'. This margin would be the same if i choose other printers. Thank you for any insights and please let me know what you guys are doing to get the margins (blue border) showing like in previous versions. Regards Francis.
  6. Hi All I am at a lost to X7's setup of the layout page margin. In X6, when i choose the printer, the margin of the selected printer shows up as blue border of the sheet size. However, in X7, this does not seem to happen. If i go into the 'Draing Sheet Setup' adjust the 'paper size', then select my printer for 'printer for view', then under 'drawing margin' i select 'Populate from Printer', the margins are as per attached pic. No matter what printer i select, this margin is the same. It does not get the printer margin from the printer driver. What are all you doing in regard to this? Frank
  7. Alan If it is the walls you want to see under the stair, and still want to see the stair on the floor plan, open the stair dbx, under the fill tab, choose no fill, and it will show the steps AND the wall under, if you have a quater landing, that fill will have to turn off too. If you don't want to see the solid line of the stair, you can switch the stair's cad line to dotted or whatever you want too, trouble is ALL stair will be shown that way on all floors. Frank
  8. I don't understand. When you say you already have a 2 storey house, and you are adding a 2 storey detached garage, you should be able just to draw walls at the second level above the garage. You don't need to build another floor. Frank.
  9. HI All Long time user and little poser. :-) I have no problem with using the levels whether it is SL or arbitrary. However, i do find that getting the levels to what is used locally would be best. In Melb, the authorities likes to see it relative to SL or we call it AHD. For this, we have surveyor survey the site and relates the site level and floor level of the any existing building to the SL (AHD), and i simply set the terrain pad elevation referenced to the CA building level. ie, if my existing building is measured at 102.5 AHD, then this is my CA floor level of 00, i then set the pad elevation to 102500 (in mm above sea level), All other contours or spot levels i then call them up as require, ie 101.9 AHD will be 101900 in my spot level DBX (or elevation line Dbx). This way, the levels that shows on the plan is the correct level when other people reads it. To me this would be simpler then mucking around trying to reduce the levels of the site and relate it to the CA level or 00. We try not to do any arbitrary levels that only relates to the site as much as possible. Just my thought Frank
