  1. I was searching for the tool you suggested and didn't find it but found another that's called Rotate Plan View. Worked great, but I'm having to rotate all my text manually, even new text is created in the wrong direction. Anyone know if there's a quick fix for that?
  2. Hello friends, I discovered after sending my plan to layout, that I would prefer it rotated 90 degrees to better organize and orient the drawings on paper. If I rotate my layout box, the text and callouts do not adjust to the new orientation. Can I rotate the entire model in the plan file? I tried and couldn't figure it out.
  3. You are 100% correct, just not enough hours in the day right now for everything I need to learn. Hopefully there will be sooner than later as these are skills I do want. Cheers.
  4. Thank you! I need to update my signature as I am now using X16.
  5. Hello Friends, Does anyone have a fireplace like this already drawn they wouldn't mind sharing with me. I don't have any experience building this sort of thing in Chief yet.
  6. That's better! Took some playing around with the settings as I don't really know how they work exactly. But I got there eventually. Thanks for the tips!
  7. Hello friends, Does anyone know how to get rid of the light circle produced by these puck lights? I've tried reducing the lumens on the individual light fixture, but it didn't help. I want the light to glow, but not produce a circle below it.
  8. Hello friends, I'm using this material on my cabinet design and it's scaling with each door/drawer differently. I've taken the Adjust Material Definition tool and tried to fix it by checking "retain aspect ratio" in the Scale section but it didn't fix the issue. The material in Chief is called Corduroy Beige. Anyone know how to fix this? Here's a photo of the issue and a photo of the style I'm trying to achieve.
  9. Thanks everyone! Unchecking opaque window glass did the trick!
  10. I'm pretty sure I did as you said, and it looks as it should, but mine doesn't appear to be working... windows are still not see through. They used to be when I was working in this file earlier, but not today.
  11. Here's standard view...
  12. Hello friends, can anyone tell me why my windows are not see through? They were before, not sure what changed.
  13. Anyone know how to fix this?
  14. Thank you! This worked. I didn't know anything about signature etiquette but it makes sense. I will try to ensure my system info is included going forward. Cheers.
  15. Hi Scott, thank you for your suggestion, however I don't quite understand what you mean. I know what material painter is and how to select component mode, but I don't understand how that changes the direction of the flooring on the riser. I tried it, selecting the material on the tread and "painting" it on the riser, but that didn't change anything. I did try changing the direction of the material but it changed it on both the tread and the riser.
  16. Hello, does anyone know how to switch the direction of the flooring on the riser in a way that will not affect the direction of the flooring on the stair tread?
  17. Hello, I want to print my drawings on 13x19 paper, aka Super-B. I setup my layout file at that size, but the print dialogue box, doesn't give me that option despite my printer having this print size ability. I noticed if I don't select my printer as the destination and instead select "Chief Architect Save as PDF" I do get the Super-B paper size option. Anyone know how to fix this?
  18. Hello! Does anyone know if it's possible to get the shading (aka gray fill) in my floor plane (on walls and cabinetry etc.) to print? It's disappearing when I print or export to PDF and I'd really prefer it didn't.
  19. wow. I can't say I understand how that worked, but it did! Thank you!
  20. I was able to easily follow the directions from the video for the full height framed glass walls, however, I'm completely stuck on how to apply this strategy on a straight glass pony wall. I cannot figure out how to fix the glass going higher than the rail (and into the ceiling) and extending into the adjoining wall.
  21. Incredible! I love this platform for these types questions! Thank you everyone for taking the time to help me out
  22. Anyone know how I could make this reeded glass partition with black frame in Chief? The glass style is not super important, but I'd like to get the frame, without having to resort to a 3D solid.
  23. That's great, thanks! Is there a way to do it on an individual cabinet?
  24. Hello, I've created a desk using a base cabinet and a custom countertop with a waterfall edge on both ends. The base cabinet keeps wanting to put a filler in the spot where the waterfall edge it and so the two are in conflict. Is there a way to turn off this auto filler?
