Hello friends, Is there a way to have a "Straight Glass Pony Wall" not go all the way to the ceiling? I have 10' ceilings and want the glass to stop at 8'.

Hello friends, I want to create a light symbol that shows up in my schedule. I have a basic knowledge of how to create a cad block, which I did. Now I want it to show up in my automated electrical schedule.

Hello friends, I've built this as a full height cabinet with applied panels. Does anyone know if there's a way to remove these two vertical portions of the cabinet box? Or do I have to build it as a base cabinet, wall cabinet, partitions and a floating shelf?

JLU_Design thank you! I wasn't aware of this setting and it's making all the difference! I'm so grateful for your suggestion!

I've never done it before... it's telling me the file is too big. I'll share a screenshot.

Hi friends, Every time I run an interior ray trace, they're always very dark. This interior has tons of windows and light fixtures, and it's still dark! How do I fix this?

Good ideas! Thank you!

oh interesting, I wasn't aware of the "make cabinet molding polyline" tool. I'll look for that. I've also never posted a plan before, I'll try that next time I need something. I did have the partition set to have a molding but it wouldn't appear so I made a polyline molding and replaced that whole section of cabinet moldings. Time consuming. Thanks!

Hello friends, Can anyone tell me why the crown on the cabinet extends over the partition on one side but not the other? I've looked at the settings and I can't find why it's behaving differently on each side. I did try putting the molding on the partition but it didn't work properly. Its exactly as I want on the right side, but can't replicate it on the left side.

Hi friends, Can anyone offer any advice on creating angles in cabinets like I need here in this plan?

Technical Illustration Elevation - weird light orb?
westvale replied to westvale's topic in General Q & A
Bummer. Thanks anyway. -
Hi friends, I'm using the technical illustration rendering technique for my interior elevations, and there's a weird light orb on the image, top, center. Is there a way to get rid of this?
-
Hello friends, I've searched high and low, yet can't figure out how to adjust the size of elevation markers - please help!

I think I see what you mean. Every new text I create is going the wrong direction...
-
I was searching for the tool you suggested and didn't find it but found another that's called Rotate Plan View. Worked great, but I'm having to rotate all my text manually, even new text is created in the wrong direction. Anyone know if there's a quick fix for that?
-
Hello friends, I discovered after sending my plan to layout, that I would prefer it rotated 90 degrees to better organize and orient the drawings on paper. If I rotate my layout box, the text and callouts do not adjust to the new orientation. Can I rotate the entire model in the plan file? I tried and couldn't figure it out.

You are 100% correct, just not enough hours in the day right now for everything I need to learn. Hopefully there will be sooner than later as these are skills I do want. Cheers.

Thank you! I need to update my signature as I am now using X16.

Hello Friends, Does anyone have a fireplace like this already drawn they wouldn't mind sharing with me. I don't have any experience building this sort of thing in Chief yet.
-
That's better! Took some playing around with the settings as I don't really know how they work exactly. But I got there eventually. Thanks for the tips!

Hello friends, Does anyone know how to get rid of the light circle produced by these puck lights? I've tried reducing the lumens on the individual light fixture, but it didn't help. I want the light to glow, but not produce a circle below it.

Hello friends, I'm using this material on my cabinet design and it's scaling with each door/drawer differently. I've taken the Adjust Material Definition tool and tried to fix it by checking "retain aspect ratio" in the Scale section but it didn't fix the issue. The material in Chief is called Corduroy Beige. Anyone know how to fix this? Here's a photo of the issue and a photo of the style I'm trying to achieve.

Thanks everyone! Unchecking opaque window glass did the trick!

I'm pretty sure I did as you said, and it looks as it should, but mine doesn't appear to be working... windows are still not see through. They used to be when I was working in this file earlier, but not today.
