  1. I'm pretty sure I did as you said, and it looks as it should, but mine doesn't appear to be working... windows are still not see through. They used to be when I was working in this file earlier, but not today.
  2. Hello friends, can anyone tell me why my windows are not see through? They were before, not sure what changed.
  3. Anyone know how to fix this?
  4. Thank you! This worked. I didn't know anything about signature etiquette but it makes sense. I will try to ensure my system info is included going forward. Cheers.
  5. Hi Scott, thank you for your suggestion, however I don't quite understand what you mean. I know what material painter is and how to select component mode, but I don't understand how that changes the direction of the flooring on the riser. I tried it, selecting the material on the tread and "painting" it on the riser, but that didn't change anything. I did try changing the direction of the material but it changed it on both the tread and the riser.
  6. Hello, does anyone know how to switch the direction of the flooring on the riser in a way that will not affect the direction of the flooring on the stair tread?
  7. Hello, I want to print my drawings on 13x19 paper, aka Super-B. I setup my layout file at that size, but the print dialogue box, doesn't give me that option despite my printer having this print size ability. I noticed if I don't select my printer as the destination and instead select "Chief Architect Save as PDF" I do get the Super-B paper size option. Anyone know how to fix this?
  8. Hello! Does anyone know if it's possible to get the shading (aka gray fill) in my floor plane (on walls and cabinetry etc.) to print? It's disappearing when I print or export to PDF and I'd really prefer it didn't.
  9. wow. I can't say I understand how that worked, but it did! Thank you!
  10. I was able to easily follow the directions from the video for the full height framed glass walls, however, I'm completely stuck on how to apply this strategy on a straight glass pony wall. I cannot figure out how to fix the glass going higher than the rail (and into the ceiling) and extending into the adjoining wall.
  11. Incredible! I love this platform for these types questions! Thank you everyone for taking the time to help me out
  12. Anyone know how I could make this reeded glass partition with black frame in Chief? The glass style is not super important, but I'd like to get the frame, without having to resort to a 3D solid.
  13. That's great, thanks! Is there a way to do it on an individual cabinet?
  14. Hello, I've created a desk using a base cabinet and a custom countertop with a waterfall edge on both ends. The base cabinet keeps wanting to put a filler in the spot where the waterfall edge it and so the two are in conflict. Is there a way to turn off this auto filler?
  15. Hello! Does anyone know how to get this tab pull mounted on the inside of the drawer? Please see image.
  16. I don't seem to be able to switch from auto exterior dimensions to auto interior dimensions... what am I missing?
  17. Hello! I'm an interior designer and I'm creating an as-built plan for a renovation. I'd like my auto dimensions to locate interior walls only, not exterior. I've searched through the auto dimension settings and can't figure out how to change it to only locate interior wall surfaces. Can anyone tell me what setting to change?

  19. Hello everyone, I attempted my first CPU ray trace and it doesn't look great. Yes, I have watched a couple videos on this (and I will be watching more). I'm just wondering if anyone can offer tips on how to make this look better. My biggest complaint is the white siding is washed out and the shadows are way too dark. The perspective full overview looks better than the ray trace. (Please ignore the wonky roof, I'm still trying to figure out how to fix that!).
  20. Thank you everyone for taking the time to help! It's all been very informative and helpful
  21. Hello! I am just getting familiar with Chief and doing my first exterior. I have a few questions: 1. How do I create the "transition board" you can see in the 1st image separating two different styles of siding. 2. How do I get the roof to wrap around the house at the top of the first floor (as shown in image 2)? 3. How do I create the front roofline where it's a gable that merges with a hip roof? The first two images I received from the contractor in pdf to work off of. The 3rd image is what I've done so far in Chief, note the wonky roof on the right side. I've been searching for answers to these questions for hours so hopefully someone is able to explain! Thanks in advance.
  22. Beautiful work! Is this CPU or GPU Ray Tracing?
