  1. Hi Robert, I did try adjusting the direction of the sun and all the sun settings, but nothing worked.
  2. Hello friends, Does anyone know how to get rid of this flare (light, solar...) in my elevations in standard view?
  3. Hi Michael, Thank you for your suggestion, however, I tried that and it didn't work.
  4. Hello friends, I'm working on small detail work, modeling this end table, and can't figure out the correct text or dimension setting to get these dimensions to an appropriate size - they're huge! Please help.
  5. Wow, there's so much great content here—thank you all! A special thanks to JiAngelo for your detailed suggestions. You've introduced me to a lot of new ideas, and I’m excited to start exploring them. I really appreciate the time and expertise you've shared to help with this challenge.
  6. Hello friends, I'm furthering my education in interior design and have a new challenging assignment. While most students are using AutoCad and Revit, I'm trying to stick to CA. I'm looking for any suggestions on how to model this building in CA. I'm just starting out and the first things that I need help with are, one, how to make a flat roof in CA, and two, how to make this style of roof structure. Any educated suggestions (preferably not guesses) are appreciated. It would also be great to know how to best make these curtain walls...
  7. Thank you for taking the time to offer a solution to my problem JiAngelo - I appreciate it
  8. Hi guys, I'm sorry, in my world RCP mean Reflected Ceiling Plan and could also be referred to as a lighting plan. I didn't realize RCP meant different things to different people. I don't have an example of what they're looking for, that's what I'm on the hunt for, then I need to figure out how to create an equivalent with Chief. They asked for a "realistic or rendered view style floor plan" and when I asked what that meant, they said "realistic or rendered view style means the floor plan is coloured and shows finishes, similar to hand-rendered floor plans except it should be done digitally". They stopped answering my question when I asked them how this would apply to a ceiling plan and if my ceiling is entirely drywall painted white, I can't see the value of this image. Just wondering if anyone has any insight on how this would look in Revit.
  9. Hi friends, I'm challenging a Revit course with Chief Architect and one of the things I have to provide is a "ceiling plan in a realistic or rendered view style". I have no idea what this would look like. I've done some digging online and found nothing. Does anyone here know what that might look like and how to achieve it? Cheers, Julia
  10. Hello friends, Can someone please tell me what the leader line from the dimension number and the dimension line is called. It's the L shaped leader that shows up when it thinks the number won't fit on the line. I'd like to change this setting to do this less frequently because some of mine look like they should fit and it's easier to read with less of them. Can anyone direct me to where this can be adjusted? I've searched the settings but can't figure it out.
  11. I couldn't find this. Can you provide screen shots of where you're referring to?
  12. Hello friends, I've put soffit lights in my model and they are all on, except in this one area. Can anyone tell me how to get them on?
  13. Hello friends, Does anyone know if there's hardware in a Chief catalogue to build this a cantilevered awning or steel canopy. Or do I have to build something with 3D solids? Thanks! Julia
  14. Hi Robert, Thanks for the info. I tried to do as you said, but I'm only seeing one version of the material in Plan Materials.
  15. Someone asked for the stone in a private message - here you go! Stone Wall Overgrouted light.calibz
  16. Hi Robert, I checked and it looks to me that the material is the same. Painting in plan mode didn't work. Here's a snapshot of my plan materials showing there isn't multiples of the same thing.
  17. Thanks! Do you have anyone you'd recommend?
  18. Here's my first try at this. Here's a dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/52xdx0u55oi0eughpdzej/Pate-07-31-24.plan?rlkey=r49ggohelidtd7k54fwclwx3h&dl=0
  19. Thanks for your suggestions! I can never post my plans because the files are too big. I checked the "Structure" of that roof plane with that edge checked and the gable fascia checkbox was unchecked - that was the ticket! Now I have a smaller issue with the shadow boards not matching. I compared most of the settings and almost everything matches. I did notice that the "Fascia Top Height" and "Shadow Boards Top Height" don't match between the two roof planes, but I can't seem to be able to fix it. If I try to adjust these to match, either the pitch goes off, of the ridge top height. I found the same sort of issue on another gable end. You would think the planes are not matching but everything looks spot on in plan. I'm going to try sharing the file via Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/52xdx0u55oi0eughpdzej/Pate-07-31-24.plan?rlkey=r49ggohelidtd7k54fwclwx3h&dl=0
  20. Thank you for taking the time to provide a suggestion for me. I've taken a good look at the edges do appear to be at 90 degrees. I was really hoping it wasn't so I could fix it but it still doesn't have fascia. I'd post the file but it's way too big.
  21. Hi everyone, Does anyone know how to get rid of the lines shown on these exterior walls and the lines around this tree?
  22. Hello everyone, Does anyone know how to get a fascia on the place where it's missing in this screenshot?
