  1. I did but I keep on getting the same problem
  2. I started working on a wall niche thinking I wouldn’t have any problem but the more I walk, the more doubts I get. Here they go a good bunch of questions related to this: - If I remove the frame of the wall niche I get a brown texture that I want to replace by the one I used on the floor of the room. How can I expand that one inside the niche? - Then, is it possible to change the color of the wall niche inside (not the whole wall)? - The same way, is it possible to change the color of part of the wall? - Now related to the cross section view, it’s almost impossible to select some objects because there are other elements in front of them. How can I do that? And, at the same time, why some objects aren’t visible in this view? I know; too many questions. Sorry!
  3. I've added these details about the backdrop to my default configuration. This will be a big help to improve my designs. Many thanks, Mick!
  4. Thanks for the link, Bob! There's so much to check about lights! I rarely use backdrops so I guess all my plans look like blue by default. I'll have to change the configuration of my physically based view carefully.
  5. I understand. I guess colors must be set depending on the light available, forniture and other things in the plan. I'll learn about this. It's a long way to go!
  6. For the moment I'll have to edit the camera every time since I haven't finished my last plan but my new template is ready for the next work (sooner than later). One last question: Is there any particlar configuration for the physically based view? By default it looks like everything in blue. There are some color adjustment options but modifying them don't improve the project.
  7. I understand now! Yes, definently, I was following the wrong path. I was just trying to edit a single camera. I think I can say now I have the software properly configured. Many thanks for all your help!
  8. I did but when I try to save my template and in the case of rendering techniques I need to get an active camera. It seems this option only works with every new camera you create. It's a bit messy.
  9. Hi, Mick! Sometimes I forget about modifying the options in the Rendering Technique when I load a project. I was trying to set them by default in all plans but I didn't find a way. Thanks for letting me know about the line drawing. It's really useful!
  10. I have changed the units of the programme (I always work with meters) and now I'm seeing an improvement. I don't know why this happens. I though the soft made a good conversion between feet and meters. I think I need to adjust all parameters and see how it is going. Many thanks for your help!
  11. I still don't have the best results working with 90 degrees. Something's telling me that the rode lights position is not correct. I'll keep on trying. I have changed the general light configuration (rendering techniques > technique options). At least, now I can see the standard view better than before. Tons of thanks, Kbird!
  12. Many thanks for your help, Kbird1! I have made a new template with the new configuration. The rode lights at 90 degrees position don't work but I think the ilumination in general has improved. The physically based view keeps on beeing the best for lights on but I think I'll manage.
  13. Hi, Kbird1! Many thanks for your help. I changed my camera configuration and now I can see all lights. The only doubt I'm getting now is rope lights aren't visible on the standard view. They are only available in the physically based one.
  14. Many thanks for the file, Bob! I've been working with it and making tries for a pair of hours now but, for the moment, I'm getting some problems. I've tried puck above cabinet lights and rope ones but when some are on the others are off and viceversa. I don't know why they turn off. Even sometimes they both are off. Then, light data configuration is another problem since I don't know how to get the proper ilumination. By the way, Happy New Year!
  15. Hi, DBCooper! Many thanks for letting me know about the rope lights. I've been working with them together with the wall niche but the result needs to be improved yet. I'm doing everything manually. This means I need to play the rope lights by hand. For the moment I'm trying to find out a way to get the proper up light from the light data section. I know. Anyway, I'm getting problems to remove the borders (in the wall niche) from the walls. Many thanks and Happy New Year!
  16. Hello! I hope everybody is enjoying this year that’s ending. I’d like making a question before 2023 comes. Is there a way to make some kind of “up holes” in a wall in order to set some puck lights up too? First, I tried with a wall niche but it’s too thin. I don’t know if I’ll have to use a pony wall or other but I have never worked with them so I’m feeling a bit lost. Any idea? Many thanks and Happy New Year!
  17. Any problems at all. Anyway, I'm a beginner
  18. Thanks, Ryan! I just added some random colors in order to avoid a mess with lines. It's very useful since I'm still lost with many things about moldings. They don't fit perfectly yet so I must keep on trying. Merry Christmas to everybody!
  19. Totally right. I am European and I have seen that Chief Architect has more options for North American buildings. What I'm trying to do is adapt what the software offers to a more European style. Not easy (I'm a beginner) but possible
  20. After many tries I have built my first door. Well... it's not the best but it's a first step ahead. I've been using views and tools for the first time (the point to point move, the cross section elevation and the back clipped...) so I was not expecting a great result. Definently, it will be more usefull to build doors than trying to apply moldings on them. Probably I'll have to use these tools for other things so it's better to learn them.
  21. Many thanks for the information and videos. They have been very useful! I'm still a bit lost about how to make the process, specially with doors. I don't know very well where a point starts and where it finishes. I have improved a lot the moldings placing. Anyway they don't fit at 100% yet.
  22. Many thanks for the info, Robert. I don't know any of these methods. Here's a plan where I'm trying to fit a molding in a door (the most difficult one for me) and in a wall. I'm only using the CAD view (I think it's called this way) and the 3D view. It's difficult to make the molding fit, specially in the door. moldings-and-walls.plan
  23. Hi, everybody! I'm working with moldings and I don't know how to make them fit on the wall. They look like floating. My problem is when I go to the CAD view I don't know how to select and move an object, specially when there are many together. I do everything manually so things don't fit perfectly. Is there any method to do this? Many thanks!
  24. I think I get it! I still don't know what I was doing wrong. It took me some time but it was worth. Now I can get several moldings at the same time. Tons of thanks, Mark!
  25. Something I'm doing wrong when I set the angle of the molding. I don't know why but, after adding the parameters, they are automatically changed. I'm working with a rectangular polyline. I don't know if it's the right shape to start with.
