cad detail font resizing Increase Font/Text Size on Cad Detail
Drew-PRH replied to Drew-PRH's topic in General Q & A
When working with a longer list in length (rows stacked vertically) to fit onto the blueprints, a larger font would be easier to read like the image below. I know this may be a bit larger - it's 5x larger than what is current. -

cad detail font resizing Increase Font/Text Size on Cad Detail
Drew-PRH posted a topic in General Q & A
While trying to increase the 'Font' or 'Text' size (a number that measures the size of characters such as letters, numbers, and punctuation marks on a screen or printed page), I am unable to make them readable because they are so small. Here was my Process: 1) Right Click on Cad Details in Project Browser 2) New Cad Detail 3) Rename Accordingly 4) Go To - Tools/Schedules 5) Choose Desired Schedule from Schedules List 6) Click in New Cad Detail to Insert on to Page It seems no matter what Text Style I choose to change the Font Size to a Larger Font, it appears to increase Everything in proportion (images and white space). If I choose - Scale Images from General Tab, it will make images smaller. However the Rows remain the same height, defeating the purpose of enlarging the Main Text within the body of the schedule. When you choose - File/Send to Layout, Fonts are really Tiny I'm sure there is a solution that I may apply......somewhere. -
object information 'Manufacturer' Name Input Area to Display on Layout
Drew-PRH replied to Drew-PRH's topic in General Q & A
Wonderful - thank you. Makes perfect sense for my question. So much more for me to learn to make things quicker and easier. And the added info of a Cad Detail rather than Plan View is great. Thanks for taking the time! -
object information 'Manufacturer' Name Input Area to Display on Layout
Drew-PRH replied to Drew-PRH's topic in General Q & A
Thank you Chopsaw. I did not realize it had to be done for every window individually. I was hoping there might be a field to pull from when entered once - this will work just great. Thanks again - -
Good day, Have you tried..... 1) Locate the material in the 'Library Browser' that you want to use - Right Click and Duplicate. 2) A 'Copy' of the Original in now placed into Your User Catalog. 3) The new Copy is now grayed over - Right Click the new copy (in your user library) and Rename by moving the curser with the arrow keys to the end of the current name and add something like 'xxxx-Matte'. (if that is what you want - xxxx being the original name) 4) Next, Right Click on your New Material you just renamed, and make another copy. Rename in the same way and maybe call this one xxxx-Plastic" 5) Right click on your new item called 'xxxx-Matte' and go into the 'Define Material' as you have, and change to what you want for Matte. 6) Now go to your other new item called 'xxxx-Plastic' and change any settings you want for Plastic. If understood, that should help by modifying each material for you to apply independently to achieve your desired results. Have a great day

Good day, I suspect it could be easier to type in the Manufacturers name and Model of windows in some general notes, however since the option to display it is in the Window Specification/Object Information, I thought I'd give it a try. With that, where do you input the Manufacturer name so the layout sheet pulls from that when specified? Thank you -

Good day, In the Master Bedroom, Living Room and Upper Stairwell are some UPPER windows which will not pull the 'Room Name' from which they are located onto the Window Schedule. I know this may be a minor item, however sometime a little bit more information can be helpful. It looks like this space is referred to as 'Attic' in the Bedroom and Living. For the Stairwell Windows, that wall - under the Wall Specification/General Tab, it lists no selection for any wall type (Foundation, Railing, Terrain, Attic) Here is one example image Is there a proper way to do this? (other than comments) Thanks!

solid core interior door Interior Door Solid Core Specification/Notation
Drew-PRH replied to Drew-PRH's topic in General Q & A
SOLVED - Comments Only under 'Object Information' from the door dialog. Which will then show up on Schedule Only, no other notations elsewhere. -
Hello Jacob, Thank you for the details and attachment. I appreciate your time in sharing for the best clarification, and further info for me to follow up on. ** Is there a way to add a sill through the Window Dialog which is full wall depth (excluding window frame) and in doing so, also by adding to the depth amount to create a slight overhang? I don't believe there is a way to do that - I've been adding my own independently. Thank you!!

Good day, I can not find any conversation regarding exactly what I need to accomplish (unless I missed it or did not understand the application). I am needing to set the vinyl windows into their openings and have the window extend beyond the siding - Slightly. They are currently set to : OPTIONS>Recessed into Wall>Recessed>To Sheathing Layer (I've tried switching to Main Layer - no effect) No Casing, No Lintel, No Sill Sash at 1.5">Depth 1.5">Inset was Changed to -5" and it moved the window more to exterior, but will not move further to exterior. Frame>NO Frame as it is Drywall Wrap Interior Is there another setting or option to accomplish this task? To remove the siding wrapping back to the window. Thank you -

Yes - Correct plane. LOL Here is an image... -
Good day, This is a work in progress.... The client would like to have the main floor roof to be one continuous shed roof single plain. All slanting to the front of home (low side to front - high to back) It appears as though since Chief created this as a multi-plain, it can not convert to a single roof plain (I'm guessing) Maybe this will need to be done manually? And then there are areas where a break will need to be done to pull back slightly. Thanks in advance! Sweeping View - Plan Only.zip

Glass House View Displays Custom Backsplash from Opposite Room
Drew-PRH replied to Drew-PRH's topic in General Q & A
Thanks Robert - both suggestions are very helpful! -
Good day, I've created a custom backsplash on a kitchen wall, and on the opposite wall in the laundry, it displays the outline from the kitchen backsplash. And visa versa for the kitchen side. Any suggestions to alleviate the 'blead through' would be highly helpful. =========== Also - does anyone know why subway tile backsplash is off on alignment? For example 3x8 tile stacked is approximately 6+/- inches. Why does Chief want to split the upper and lower then leave a full tile in the center. I've tried manually adjusting via different views to no avail. Thanks for the assistance in advance -

Hey Robert -Awesome! Thank you. There are so many things to find and sometimes you need the proper words to search. This will come in handy. Have a great day! - Drew
