  1. I hope CA is listening and will make the necessary updates and fixes to get stairs up to par with other software (Autocad Architecture has had great stairs for the past 10 years) I depend a lot on correct stair representations for our homes, I think this issue alone will be the factor in my decision to switch my architectural team to CA, I will wait for X7 to come out before a final decision

  2. Here is another job that is finished.  Front steps were the hardest part as there are lots of terrain breaks and little slabs. Putting the components on different layers is the key, so you can lock them or turn them off.

    Great job, looks very good

  3. Doug,

We built 150 homes this year (going to 200 next year) and we follow the ANSI standards for all of our sq ft calcs (very common among builders) - This is something we heavily rely on, it affects everything from estimating, purchasing and marketing.

  4. I bought the book "Residential Design Using X6" while doing one of the exercises I found something abnormal. I drew a 36'-0"x22'-0" room with a living area of 792 SF - BUT when you add interior partitions the living area changes to 790 SF - Have any of you encountered something like this before?
