Update: I believe it is related to the file I am rendering.  It is not super complex (plant layer is off, and not a lot going on) but there is something to the file because other more complex files are rendering more quickly.  Not sure if I am still looking for a reply from one of you Chief wizards out there, more of just a head scratcher I guess.

After I upgraded to x11 the rendering camera has begun to take forever to open up a window, and when I try to use material painter it takes forever to change material.  My computer is a Mac running Sierra.  (See screen shot of specs).  I cleared up some space on HD but didn't seem to affect the speed.  It just started happening, any thoughts?

Is it possible to import models from Sketch up?  I feel like I keep reading threads where people are mentioning it, but don't see anything on how it is done?  I would like to import a Bamboo plant.

Is there a way to change the direction that a material displays?  I often want to use a wood material for a wall or a poly line solid, but it looks weird because it doesn't display in the orientation that I want.

Why is it that when I select the whole house I cannot rotate it?

I'm trying to do the same thing you were struggling with-- two houses sloped terrain.  I don't really want to do the defaults route.

Am I correct that CA won't let you select all the rooms on one floor and edit their heights/properties with one dialog box?

I have lines where the second floor wall meets the upper floor wall. The walls should be in one plane.  I tried realigning the walls to each other but no luck.  Any thoughts?

Hi all,

Am I missing something? I just upgraded to x6 from x1 (woohoo!), and I don't see any materials at all in the library browser.  No materials, no nothing!  What am I missing?
