  1. ...showing 1st floor exterior walls and roof on the 2nd floor plan, you don't have to add cad lines to show that , just reference that on any plan. ...I will usually copy another layer-set, that's close to what I want, and add the word "reference" to it. There you go, you have created a reference set. Then change it to what you need to show.

Very helpful, thanks.  I worked through this and ended up with a few other questions, but the info you provided (creating Reference Sets from Layer Sets being the key for me) was enough to search KB; came up with answers I needed.  If anyone else might be interested, check out:  http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00795/

    This also provided insight:  http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00765/

DSH, I'll dig around for you videos too--they are always helpful.

    Thanks again.

  2. Late to the party, perhaps for future inquiries--worked for me:

    Reverse Plan

The Reverse Plan tool is a quick way
to mirror a plan so that everything on
all floors of the entire plan is swapped left to
    right.

Select Tools> Reverse Plan to reflect an
entire plan right to left, as though it were
    reflected about a vertical line.

Reversing a plan rebuilds the entire model
and affects views sent to layout.

  3. Is there a way to set defaults for cameras? Fox example Glass House View I would like to have more black white, not blue colour, but it changes back after I close the camera.

    Try this...

    Edit>Default Settings>Camera>Rendering Technique>Glass House>  make and save adjustments

Other defaults can be adjusted from Rendering Technique too.

  4. ..

Is there a written resource (or a resource that I can print) that will help me learn CA step-by-step?

Glenn mentions the User & Reference Guides.  These are accessible directly through Help on main toolbar--each opens a browser window with respective guide in searchable PDF.  Won't tell you how long it took me to figure out that little gem.  Once opened, I'd save to Desktop (or other folder and create Desktop Shortcuts).

Those guides, the forum and vids Keith mentions, and poking around here: http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/database.html helped quite a bit.

I do not know if you can still sign up to the 'old forum', which we transitioned out of early this year... check with an Admin... wealth of information there too.

  5. OP, if it is the Construction Master Pro DT, either Staples, Office Depot, and most other office supply stores should have it (or be able to order it quickly).  Paper roll is:  Width: 2-1/4” (57mm); Diameter: 3-3/8” (86mm) or less
