Hey Mick
thanks
workarrouners some times connect the dots. The programmers are busy solving bigger complicated equations and may miss the easy things. I don't know how to say it.
Any ways here is one that is complete. users will need to add it to their custom library. all you need is to create the circular hole inside the using invisible wall then drag and drop.

I am going to suggest in the suggestions forum the following:
In the setup dialog:
Min Tread Depth
Max Tread Depth
Min Rise
Max Rise
This would make the stair generator create a code compliant stair system at the get go, (assuming that is what you input), instead of tweaking the number of treads, tread depth and rise.
Any thoughts on this?
Very good Idea. I believe this can solve a number of issues. It would be even better if set up in the program default settings initially. It works for every country code requirements. The currently existing controls are quite nice. These suggested controls would be a guide or "deam to satisfy control". Thank you

A lot of people are contacting me after they watch videos of reinforced concrete structures in my youtube channel. A lot of people think that chief is only good at Timber framing but as you can see in this video CA has all the tools to model and draft rcc structures too. So I thought to post here at offering service that I am ready to hold one on one session or a webinar if a group of people are interested.
Thanks in advance.

Set landing heights manually and then simply drew stairs from landings to landings and from landing to ground. Same thing you tried to do with floors but with landings instead.
Yes Michael's solution works perfect.

Try two things.
1- Marque sellect all the exported drawing in autocad workspace. Change colour to ether black or white. I dont exactly remmeber working colour, but that usually solves the issue
2- Export hatches button may require to be ticked.
Hope that hrlps

You used Chief for a large government building?...and "they" have their own copy of Chief to mess with the file? That alone is interesting.
Hey Johnny here is a relatively big commercial building I did using CA. X10 runnibg on mac book pro.Actually not an easy task for chief to run smooth when when plans get bigger.

Yusuf ---cool! Thanks for a simple solution! I will check and uncheck some of the boxes and see what results I can come up with, Im just so glad it can do it without a bunch of piece mealing it together.
Rob, I actually don't have a plan, I saw a staircase like this on tv and was just wondering if something like this could be done in chief, so I don't have a plan to show. Im just excited it can do this so it opens up new design opportunities!
Thanks for all the input everyone!
You sre welcome.
I am glad it worked for you.
Thank u

Not sure it would be easy but someone like @yusuf-333 could likely figure it out.
Chop
I think chief does this automatically. Just untick the check boxes for "railing transitions" in stair dbx, while check boxes for "smooth transition" is checked on.
thanks

I think I was able to get it together. In the end I imported everything as a symbol into the plan because building it in the plan became too complex.
I ended up building the treads out of staircase landings and adding a polyline solid underneath each landing as the metal casing. I ended up having to build it with 5+ floors so the railing could remain continuous (it kept trying to jump between landings that were stacked onto each other, having them on different floors fixed this issue).
I created railings that followed the slope of the stairs to get the rough railing in there (I will be cleaning it up and will surely have to fix some arter the fact in photoshop).
This was where I was at the previous post. At this point i created a symbol from the model and created a second plan. In the second plan I manually created a staircase tread by tread following the shape of the symbol. This allowed me a lot of flexibility in creating the shape of the stringer. It is not perfect contours but it is fairly close for render purposed. I then turn all textures except for the stringer into an air gap texture to hide it. I then thrned that into a symbol and placed it into the plan from there.
This definitely was not the easiest way to make it but after some polishing I think this will end up working out.
Here are a few images of how it is turning out. Once I finalize the concepts i will upload them.
Great, you r almost there. If you want more customized ones, you can shoot me pm. Any how, I just gave try one that resembles yours.. So I think its ok.

Hi I am interested to do it for you.
Here is a sample on how we do it.

Follow Solver's advice. Manual roofs are quite handy as he said. Try this vid. Cut and join using plines.
Here is the link to a short video tutorial I created earlier.

Thanks, Yusuf. I don't need one, but the original poster (OP) was looking for help in doing one with a large, center stringer. The OP hasn't commented back yet so they may have found a way to do what they needed. You might want to post these examples and your rate above in the "Offering Services" forum for anyone looking at this thread at a later date; might get some business.
Thanks Ridge.

I guess you have been busy, but we sure miss your input. I really like how you are one who "thinks outside the box."
Ok ridge thanks again. I was making custumized stairs. If you need one, let me lnow. Here are the stair symbols I have been doing this types in no time.
Only for 100USD$ if there is any one looking to get symbols like those.
Thank you

Thanks chop, Here I am ..I was just thinking about getting back to the great chieftalk community. Glad to get your call..fingers crossed. Let me just look at the op. Thank u.

Oh and yes Chop posted it. follow chop's advise.

Plot lines in send to layout dbx does good, but you are saying line drawing among the 3d presentation styles. Right? If yes, I never used those as a layout elevation view. But there are settings related to line smoothing and "strugle amplitude" can't remember the exact wordings though, since not arround pc.

Very Nice Yusuf. I think I will watch that one more time at 1/8 speed and I will be an expert by tomorrow.
Thanks Chop. I am not sure this contains any thing that will make you a monster in 8 hours ..
You are already an expert+++
