  1. I have tried to make the rope light above ceiling soffits with surface mounted tube lights used as floor mounted lights (red arrow signs in pic# 2). In ray tracing lights are showing pointed with gapes among them(pic #1) whereas I have wanted to make its smooth continuity along the ceiling soffits.Any clue how to make such a rope light?
I just imitated it in rendering with a high-intensity emissive property solid bar (in pic #3) which does not lit up in ray trace.
    Any solution?

Try opening the light symbol DBX and under Options > Placement, Choose "Floor Mounted" then go back to the object DBX under the General tab and set the Position > "Offset From Floor".  That should solve the issue.

    tried with no luck either!

You need to build 3 rings - No problem.  What is the shape of the bottom of them ?  Is there a molding or is it flat ?  If if is flat then Psolids will work, if not it will be more involved.

its flat bottom as shown in both the pictures attached herewith (no mouldings). Polyline solid does not work in the circular shape to make a hole in the cylinder. Is there a way out?

  4. A good news is I am back on my previous machine and problem solved. In fact, I was relying on the information of automatic graphics card driver updates by the windows OS which was showing me that my graphics card was up to date whereas the case was the other way round, I have just downloaded the latest updates from the OEM site and its working smoothly now. Thank you all those who tried to assist.

  5. With the way I adopted, there are some problems with rendering. First, in render view, both the doors sometimes show and sometimes do not show up, second when I try to edit materials of one of them both disappears in render view and lastly there is another problem in render view which is shown in the picture attached.20-32.thumb.jpg.b7802ab1b772840e1d6a9026452c306c.jpg

Are you trying to show a Door that swings both ways in Plan View  or will there physically be two doors?

If you are only showing it swinging both ways there is a checkbox in the Door's DBX for that.....

I knew that but I want two different doors.

  7. Hi,

I want to make a double dual door in a wall like I am posting in a figure. I did not find a proper way to do so. What I did, I copied the door in place and changed its direction to the opposite side. Am I right? I feel20-25.thumb.jpg.a63f280b766503b6862d330e0e3c2c7a.jpg20-25.thumb.jpg.a63f280b766503b6862d330e0e3c2c7a.jpg I am not right. Would anyone bother to guide me the proper procedure?

  8. Hi,

I have made a barn door with polyline solid and changed its material from concrete to glass. It is producing wrong imagery during rendering, if you see in plan view the newly created glass barn door is away from the furniture but in rendering view it is mingling with the interior furniture.

May I know where I went wrong? pictures are attached herewith.sample.thumb.jpg.6131d948a1a680d59f7072b49b5957e9.jpgsample2.thumb.jpg.f53e92bea3cf2b420be7dfe0b117c488.jpg
