  1. @robdyck Thanks for your feedback. I will try both of those options after I finish my permit set.
  2. Ha. Yeah. That is so true. I am getting caught up on making the perfect 3D model. I can play around with that after I get the permit drawings done. CAD Detail from View makes sense because it's easier to manipulate the lines. Thanks!
  3. Hello. How do I trim the bottom of the rafter so that it is cut square to the top of the steel beam or a 2x plate on top of the steel beam? Currently, the rafter is extending through the steel beam. I have the beam set as a Roof Beam. See area in Red circle. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi. I am trying to create a custom wall type to show an existing 2x4 stud wall being sistered with a new 2x6 stud right next to it. I have both framing layers placed inside the "Main Layers" (core) section. However, the preview shows the 2x4 and 2x6 studs automatically aligning on their interior faces instead of their exterior faces. I need both studs to be perfectly flush against the exterior sheathing layer, pushing the extra 2 inches of the 2x6 strictly toward the interior side. How do I force the alignment to lock to the exterior edge of the framing core? (Screenshot of my wall type definition attached below). Thanks for the help!
  5. @GeneDavis Thank you kindly. I have it working now.
  6. Hi. @GeneDavisMy goal is to. have the fascias of the gable and shed roof to be continuous - like the area in the red box. Hope that makes sense. @BenPalmer The joining roofs option would work, but for framing/construction purposes, I want to show the shed roof being framed over/on top of the gable roof.
  7. Here are current screen shots. All 4 fascias are set to same height. On the 3D framing view, I was able to use the "join and lap ends" framing tool to get the fascias to join like I want them. It is not carrying over to the 3D full view, nor elevation drawings. Attached is also a concept pic of my end goal.
  8. @genedavis. Hello Thank you. I tried with no luck. Maybe because it is that I have the shed roof as an overframe onto the gable (which is how I would like it to be built).
  9. Hi. Is there a way to automatically frame a shed and gable roof so that their fascias align? I want the gable and shed roof fascias to be clean and continuous. Any help is appreciated. Thank you kindly.
  10. @CharlesVolzHello. Thank you for your feedback. I am going to give it a try now. Have an amazing day!
  11. Hello. I wamt to break my roof plane into an upper and lower half. ' The upper half will have metal roofing. The lower roof plane I would like to have as plywood (no metal roofing) since it is located under a frame over roof area. Is there a way to divide a single roof plane into two different roofing materials? Thank you kindly for any feedback.
  12. Hello. Thank you everybody. You were correct about the insulation layer being marked as framing.
  13. Hello. When I generate framing, the king , timmer and other studs are framing outside the main wall. I tried to find a setting to turn this off. How do I stop this from happening? Any feedback is helpful. Thank you kindly.
  14. Hello. When I add a terrain on the first floor plan view, it is removing the exterior walls on the 3D camera views. Any feedback about how I can fix this would be appreciated. Thank you kindly.
  15. @DavidJPotter Hello. Thank you for your response. Have a great day.
  16. Hi. Is there a way to turn off the lights on the front and back gables? The lights were created using moldings and profiles. Thanks in advance.
  17. Hello. Is there a setting that will turn off lines or layers from printing? For example, I have layout lines that I use to layout floor plans. I want to keep these lines, but do not want them to print. Any feedback is helpful. Thank you kindly.
  18. Hello. I am trying to create a round exterior deck that wraps around a house. After creating the deck, CA is seeing it as an interior room. Any suggestions on how I can separate the deck from the interior of the house? Each space would have different flooring materials. See attached pic. Thank you kindly.
  19. Hello. Is there a way to transfer an existing plan onto a new template? I have an existing plan for a one story house with foundation, but there are no active views. Rather than creating all new active views, I would like to transfer the plan to a template that already has preset active views. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.
  20. @glennw Thank you kindly. I will give it a try. Have a nice day.
