  3. Hi, I am working on a roof with hip and gable combination, I'm having a difficult time connecting the ridge (where the gable is over front entry and hip is on end) as well as the valleys. I've done quite a bit of manual roof editing after auto building the main areas. Any helpful suggestions? The roof is 5/12 and it was designed on Chief X11. A fast way to connect roof planes would really be helpful as well. I keep getting holes and gaps in my roof. Still in the design stage and may make more alterations..... Fizette_master_plan_copy.plan
  4. Ok so I'm not making progress like I thought I would had some suggestions from a couple of Solvers (Eric another gentleman -whose name I've forgotten), which I tried but I need more details on how to make a flat ceiling under a deck roof that is covering a split level entry. The deck is smaller than the roof itself. It was suggested to move the roof up to second story which I did and to make a ceiling with an open below room. How do I create the open below room? I tried room divider , it did not work correctly. I cannot get a flat ceiling to generate. Also the deck keeps dropping down to the first floor. I'm stumped. More detailed instructions please, Thankyou Hancock House Plan.plan
  5. Thanks to both of You, seems like a pretty easy fix.
  6. I have a split level entry deck with a gable roof extending over it. The roof is larger (wider and deeper) than the deck itself and I can't get the roof to create a flat ceiling instead of just following the gable underneath. Suggestions? Any changes I have tried only generate a ceiling over the deck itself and the siding next to the house disappears Hancock House Plan.plan
  7. Sorry, Yes using X11. The wall on the left of stairs level 1 and the wall on right if you continue up (2nd) stair level....
  8. Having trouble with walls generating all the way down in a split level entry. Not sure where to align walls to stairs and stairwell so I have a solid wall on both sides of stairwell Hancock House Plan.plan
  9. Sorry for the delayed response here...This is great! A video is exactly what I needed - Thankyou Much SNestor! I'll be checking out your other YouTube videos
  10. I have a plan with a gable and hip roof combo. The problem is Gable peak is 10 ft. ceilings and the hip is 9 ft. ceilings. I want them to join at the top. So far I automatically built the roofs, then went back in and manually made adjustments to roof pitch etc. Gable is 5/12 pitch. Hip areas are now 6/12 pitch (so they now are same height). Problem is I have and small overhang where they meet at the ridge - It's something like a T shape. Anyway it overhangs where they join. Any suggestions? Fizette copy.plan
  11. Ok thank you Solver, I'm looking over and studying the thread info. I'll let you know if it works or I need more help
  12. The default window labels is what he's wanting, in 2D plan view (the small blue print as shown above in Solver's diagram)
  13. I think it's just the standard window dimension default - (the small blue dimension on the left)
  14. He's wanting the 2D plan view with exterior dimensions. Which I have, but for some reason I can't get the window dimensions on there as well. Szynskie 860 sq. ft. House copy 2.plan
  15. Is there an option to generate a roof pitch dimension on the story pole dimensions or in 3D views? I'm also unable to generate window dimensions directly on the plan . I have a window schedule but the builder prefers seeing dimensions directly on the plan of (exterior dimensions) as well. I have turned dimensions on in preferences for windows but they're still not generating. Suggestions?
  16. Ok, so I cannot find a way to generate a roof over a covered patio. Basically it will be over the front entry door (a mini gable), not the same height as the rest of the single story gable roofed house. The roof generates over top of cement patio which is at ground level OR at the same height as the rest of the house. I have tried room divider walls, slab foundation, changing the level (from 0 to 1) and I've also changed the settings on the Room Specification Structure options to add height to my 4 in. mono slab. Any suggestions or other options?
  17. I'm having a difficult time making a wall meet the heighth of a vaulted ceiling, the house is a fairly simple structure - rectangle with the vaulted part stretching from north to south, ending at wall in the kitchen (where the appliances) are butted up against. This wall is not the end of the gable roof line; it is about 75% of the length of the house . The ceiling (which is A shaped )meets at the middle of the gable roof. Bedrooms on the right side with a main wall running directly down middle of house, living and kitchen on the left. Seems like it should be pretty straight forward but I cant make the needed change, I'm ending up with a void at the top of my 9 ft. walls and therefore the sky peeking through!
  18. Nice, deleting that upper wall did the trick. Its all one wall with all windows measured from the same floor. Thanks!
  19. Since its all one wall that is seen from upper floor balcony, as well as main floor, I want to adjust distances between upper and lower windows and have them all measured from same start point
  20. Hopefully this posted... Chris & Joanna plan#3.plan
  21. So, I selected the wall, and went under the structure option, and clicked on the balloon through ceiling above. Nothing changed for some reason
  22. How do i turn a two story rake wall into one single tall wall where all the window heights are measured from same place?
