  1. My favorite new feature is Clipping Cross Section/Elevation Views (chiefarchitect.com). Very handy for zooming in on specific details and setting cutting planes. I also like the new Construction Lines, but they still need some improvements to allow adjusting width/height as a group. Height auto adjust worked okay, but width had to be done manually one line at a time. Fortunately, you only have to do it once per plan. I like infinite setting while working, but I need to control width/height for layouts.
  2. quickplumb.com has a good tool for this. The plus version lets you export DWG that can be imported to chief if you want to see how it effects your framing. You can also use it to model your HVAC layout (big pipes).
  3. I had a similar issue when zoomed in for a detail drawing. It turned out to be Room layer line weight also goes up the walls of the room. So I had to turn off the Room layer in my section detail layer set.
