  1. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could identify this material/manufacturer of the grey/black exterior surface in the photo. Thanks so much.
  2. We really do need a revamped stair tool. Hoping this happens in the next release.
  3. I just ran across the same problem. You solved it by adding a second layer to the exterior of your wall? Doesn't that create more problems elsewhere?
  4. Figured that was the case, thanks.
  5. Is there a way to get your vertical dimension to face horizontally (image 2 is what I want and image 1 is the way it is before manually rotating the number) instead of it rotating with the plan. I tried both settings in the dimension defaults for rotating with plan and it did not change the direction of the number. I know you can rotate each dimension number manually, but I was wondering if there was a better and faster way to do this. Thanks. .
  6. So the only part of the basement that is on level "0" would be the lowered room for golf simulator and then the footings for it?
  7. I have been attempting to create a lowered floor room for a golf simulator in the basement. The basement is a half exposure (daylight windows), I want the floor of the golf simulator to sit 33'' below the floor in the basement for golf club clearance. I have tried using pony walls, but ideally I want the framed walls (some half walls some full height) to sit inside (furred) of the foundation walls (I do not want the directly on top as a pony walls would do). What is the best way to achieve this type of room? Thanks.
  8. It was done in autocad, although it does look like chief from the elevations.
  9. Hello, I am having the hardest time creating this front porch. The left gable has a vaulted ceiling, while the right gable has a flat ceiling (the flat ceiling is a 10' ceiling). I have tried using post to beam for the walls, but the bottom of the beam is not flush with bottom of the ceiling (the top is but not the bottom which is how I want it). I also cannot seem to get a flush eaves with the bottom of the beam. I think part of the problem is that this roof has a 21 3/16'' heel height so it is causing all sorts of problems. Does anyone have a solution on the best way to build this? Thanks.
  10. Figured that was how you had to do it, Thanks.
  11. @SNestorThank you, this is very helpful. To get the "ledge" part of the foundation wall (where it goes from 10'' to 6'') do you just have to auto detail it in a cross section view? As @Doug_Npointed out the foundation doesn't want to build up behind the brick ledge for some reason.
  12. I am guessing that for the 6'' part of the foundation I will need to auto detail it. When I do this the brick extends down to the 10'' part of the foundation but the foundation does not create the "ledge (When it goes from 6'' to 10'')" unless I auto detail it. Is that the only way to do it?
  13. Hello, I have been trying to create a brick ledge (starting on main level) down to the foundation. I want the foundation base to be 10” and where the ledge sits for it to be 6”. Above the 6” part of the foundation I want it to be a 2x6 framed wall. I tried using the brick ledge dialogue, and have attempted multiple different pony wall combinations to get it but no luck. I feel that I need multiple pony walls in order to pull this off. Is there anyway to do this ? I attached a drawing (not drawn to scale) for a better representation. Thanks.
  14. Interesting, same thing is happening with me, it doesn't make sense why the top of plate would be changing in the roof dialog box if the top of plate is defined by the ceiling height which is remaining unchanged. Thanks for your input.
  15. So would the baseline height minus the top of plate give me the heel height for trusses ?
  16. I just realized that I was trying to say in the quote you had that baseline minus the top of plate would give me the heel height. Not sure if that clears it up.
  17. I will do that. Thank you for your feedback.
  18. I see what you are saying. The main reason I use baseline height is because I want to manually edit the heel height, which I thought was the baseline height - the top of the plate. I want my top of plate to remain the ceiling height in this case, 218 7/8” and be able to manually edit different roof planes to match different heel heights. To my knowledge the best way to do that was in the baseline height: top of plate height + desired heel height. Maybe I’m wrong. Not sure.
  19. Not sure if this changes anything but my roofs are all set to trusses and not rafters. It seems odd to me that the top of plate would change in roof dialog and not in the room dialog (under rough ceiling).
  20. I think it is a bug too. When I go into the room dialog and check to see the ceiling height, it has not changed, so I think you are right. I will give them a call tomorrow.
  21. Hello, I was wondering why when I change the roof baseline height, it also changes the top plate height? I want to keep the top plate height at 218 7/8'' and I want the Baseline height to be 232 7/8'' (218 7/8'' + 14''). When I make the change to the baseline height, it also changes the top plate height in the dialog. I locked the pitch because I want it to remain the same. When I go into each room the ceiling height remains the same and doesn't change (which is what I want), but in the roof dialog box it has the plate height changing with the baseline. Is this a bug? I just want to make sure that I am using the correct heel heights so I want to make sure this is correct. Thanks.
  22. Hello, I have been working on a stepped foundation and was wondering why in the cross section for the foundation it does not display the entire wall length? It seems to extend only until the perpendicular wall intersects it. I was wondering if there is a way to change this and if not what are the easiest ways around this or to accurately measure it in the floor plan view. I attached an image (in this case there is a 4'' gap on the left side and a 3'' gap on the right side of the screenshot). Thanks.
