  1. Everyone on this forum is so helpful. In the midst of my dash to get my plans completed the entire 1st floor shifted which affected all of the layout pages etc. The engineer was able to use previous files but no one noticed that it shifted the building footprint on the site print. Have to really know the layout to even see it but the setbacks are all wrong because of it. There was a roof problem that had to be resolved so I have to resubmit Monday before building code changes on Tuesday. Because the alignment shifted I have all of these attic walls that shouldn't be there. I thought I had everything back where it belonged but apparently not. Any easy fix to get things back to where they should be? Lots of detail has been added to the plan and redoing all of that would take hours. And if anyone knows what could have happened so I can prevent it in the future would be helpful! Martha
  2. When I say filling I should have be more clear - shading is what I'm after. Drawzilla - I usually do just what you recommended but I need them shaded. The only option on the callout is to shade the arrow which I'm not using. The engineer has specified different shear walls with 4 different symbols - solid triangle, solid triangle with larger triangle around it, circle with solid triangle inside and just a triangle. The engineer sent me a PDF legend but I still have to insert them into the shear wall plan at the right locations. I'm thinking would be best to modify a square to be a triangle and then make it solid shading. Hey if it comes down to it I will draw them by hand after printing the plans. Quite frankly the building dept could care less - only that they can figure out what's been built.
  3. Engineer uses triangles & diamonds of various sizes - some are filled - to designate the different types. Do I modify a CAD box - the callout triangle doesn't appear to have the option of filling it - only the arrow. This is not the first time I've used these symbols but I can't remember how I accomplished this in the past. Running out of time to get my plans finished and I've wasted a lot of time trying to figure this out. Mac X6 user
  4. Thanks for the answers. Appreciate the comments. If I don't solve it tomorrow I will post plan.
  5. Long time sporadic Chief user. Use it to prepare plans for my contracting business. Some projects are simple while others involve much greater detail. Been a couple of years since I needed to create a landscaping plan for a client. Just upgraded to Mac desktop from PC and X6 from X2 - nothing like learning new tools all at once. Love the lightening speed but Chief keeps crashing on me particularly when in 3d. But still faster than my old PC so I'll deal with the issue. i don't use the terrain tool often and know I must be doing something basic incorrectly. I tried to use my plot plan info (CAD detail) to create the terrain but that didn't work so I copied the property line polyline and overlaid the terrain perimeter to get the right size and location then deleted the property line. Whatever I add to my terrain is not showing up in 3d. Some items like a pool won't even show up in 2d. I've checked (I think) all the possible display issues but can't seem to resolve it. I created a terrain layer set to use for this purpose. The lot is relatively flat and I don't have elevation information so just leaving it flat - slight slope at the rear but nothing major. Raised foundation approximately +15" to finished floor height. Any help would be appreciated! Martha
