  1. Turns out 3D viewer on iOS only works w ca premier. I included their reply on the other thread about this
  2. Tech support told me this: Thank you for your email and recent purchase of Home Designer Suite 2018. The Chief Architect Cloud Accounts are only available with Chief Architect X9 Interiors and Premier found here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/. Unfortunately, at this time Home Designer Software products do not have a Cloud Account. However, there are a few options for sharing your plans with clients. You can export an image, a video walkthrough, or a 360 rendering. The 360 rendering is new to Home Designer version 2018. You can create a panoramic rendering in Home designer Suite 2018 and then send it to another person who can view it using a new online viewer created by Chief Architect. I have provided instructions below. To create the panoramic image refer to the steps in Chief Knowledge Base article KB-03067. Once you get to the point in the article where it describes exporting the image to the Chief cloud account, instead export the image file to a location where it can be accessed to send to the party who will be viewing it (e.g. via email attachment). Chief Architect has created a 360 Panoramic Rendering web-based viewer. You will need to provide to the viewing party both the image file and the link to the viewer web page. I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with today. Kind Regards,
  3. thank you. so that means, to use the iPad, a person has to sign into chief architect's cloud with the LINK that the chief architect sends. I was trying to do this myself with home designer suite but cannot find how to generate such a link.
  4. thank you justmejerry. But can you be a little more specific? What has to be done in CA or Home Designer to generate the file that can be sent by email so 3dviewer can open it?
  5. nope. i cannot open any .plan files in 3d viewer. even when you up up an email to which a sample .plan file is attached. you can download the file, but when you hit 'open in', the 3d viewer app is not listed.
  6. so is this possible? sorry to sound stupid but i cannot find the 3d viewer when i click the 'open in' option in the dialog that opens up after i click the file in my iOS email.
  7. My architect sent me a plan by email. How do I open this in the iOS app?
  8. i discovered the spherical 3d settings and this locks the backdrop to the model.
  9. Using a backdrop in a walk through is weird. As I walk around the house and my orientation changes, the backdrop stays the same. Is there any way to specify that a backdrop is a sphere that surrounds the model? so when I walk around and look in different places, the view changes .
