  1. Hello, I'm curious if anyone is running an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU with Chief X13? If so do you have any issues with it and physical based ray tracing?

Bruce From your 2d drawing make a full perspective overview, from your camera view. Then go to your rendering techniques button and choose "physically based (ray Trace)" That's it. Mine works great until I start rotating or zooming in...it will then white out!, let me know how yours works.
  3. You guys were correct I had a terrain elevation region I was working with. I had drug it outside the terrain perimeter and forgot about it. It now works at least as well as did prior too. Lesson learned! Thanks again!
  4. Thank you solver! I will try delting the drive and let everyone know what I discover.
  5. ok, I apprciate you looking it over Chopsaw! I'll look into DBX settings you suggested as well as the driveway outside the terrain. Thanks!
  6. Chopsaw, Thanks for your reply! I have attached the plan file. Please understand I am a novice at this and its still a work in progress. I have walls that do not line up from floor to floor, and my wall heights are incorrect both basement and the main floor need to 9' not 8' etc etc.. but I appreciate you looking at it. It seems odd that x11 can do it and x6 cant? 23106 0 1 2 3 A Levels from rendering plan.plan
  7. ok thanks Ino-DEC, I'll look into that and post what I find.
  8. I am getting very glitchy renderings from my Chief Architect X6. I have tried to figure this out but to no avail. Since I have a trial copy of X11 on my computer, I opened the exact same file in X11 where it works perfectly. I have attached two screen shoots from my copy of X6 and one in my trial version of X11. If any of you guys can help with this, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you! 9. Hi Kevin, Yes unfortunately you are correct about 5+ years old. Thanks for the advice I may end up doing just that. Todd
  10. This what I found on my cards: DisplayPort 1.2 Max resolution: 2560x1600 per display Multi-Stream Transport 21.6 Gbps bandwidth High bit-rate audio HDMI® (With 3D, Deep Color and x.v.Color™) Max resolution: 1920x1200 Dual-link DVI with HDCP Max resolution: 2560x1600 VGA Max resolution: 2048x1536 Unfortunately the montior I'm looking at is 3440 X 1440, LG 34UC80-B 34-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide. Although I have not made my mind completly, as you know I have to put the whole puzzle togherther to see what else may need to be upgraded...what size of worms am I jumping into here? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074JKT894/ref=cm_wl_huc_continue
  11. Kbird1, The purpose of upgrading my GPU(s) was I want to use a larger monitor and my two 6900s do not support a monitor that size. Also later this year, or next, I intend to upgrade to X11 or the subsequent X12. as you mentioned when you upgrade the GPU you may need to upgrade your motherboard excetera excetera kind of the rabbit hole I'm trying to avoid if possible but it may be unavoidable. As a side note that free upgrade copy of Windows 10 I may end up having to purchase if I switch out the motherboard. I will definitely re-post my original post on this as you suggested to the link you provided, that will be helpful! Thanks for your help I'll keep you updated and may have another qustion or two for you if you don't mind? Thank you, Todd
  12. ...and yes cost matters maybe mid to mid high range, Thanks! Todd
  13. Hello, I wanted to upgrade my two 20" monitors to a single 34" monitor until I realized my two AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series cards don't support that monitor. My system is as follows: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763 System Type x64-based PC BaseBoard Product P8P67 DELUXE BaseBoard Version Rev 1.xx Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB Total Virtual Memory 32.0 GB My question is what card or cards would work best to run Chief x6 (and later the new version) on my system which I imagine is an old school system by now, but is what I've got. Thank you! Todd

  15. Ok, just a little update; I went ahead and installed windows 10 on my windows 7 computer. I am pleased to report it works with no issues thus far and my copy of Chief Architect X6... no issues! Side note, I was able to get Windows 10 for free so that helps. builtright3 I thought you would appreciate that! Todd
  16. Not that I'm aware of... I think their just going to keep tweaking 10, at least for the near future.
  17. Thank you both, builtright3 and David Porter for your replies! I have not made up my mind here completely but am leaning towards the update from Window 7 to Windows 10...I'll have to do it eventually anyway as Microsoft is slated to stop supporting windows 7 January 2020. Thanks again, Todd
  18. Thank you, Chopsaw for answering my question! As for the upgrade question...from what I've come to understand Windows 7 won't be supported much longer.
  19. Does any one run Chief Architect X6 on a windows10 64bit computer. I would like to upgrade to window 10 64bit from windows 7 64bit and have X6 does this work? Any help here would greatly appreciated! Todd
