  1. The stacked windows in the gable wall show up as they should in an exterior elevation view. I would like the window labels for the stacked windows to show up on the second floor plan view. They show up in the attic wall above. The roof is scissor trusses; 6/12 roof and 3/12 ceiling. The ceiling trusses show up fine in an elevation view when I hide the exterior wall. So I have two questions. First, why is the gable wall split into a wall and an attic wall? Second, how can I get the stacked window labels to show up on the seconf floor plan view. The plan and screenshot are attached. Thanks in advance, Lane Mitchell, Donald, 3-16 Inch REVISED 01-16-2024.zip
  2. Yes, but what difference does the total wall thickness make when all walls are set to align on the main layer outside?
  3. I am trying to align the upper wall, a pony wall, with the lower wall, a foundation wall. I have all walls set to align to the main layer. When I dimension the drawings, the foundation wall and upper walls do not align. Wha am I doing wrong? Plan is attached. Thanks in advance. Lane Pool House.plan
  4. Thanks! I have never used the Reference Display to join them together, but it like it's time I learned how to do it.
  5. This client has two buildings on the same property; they are detached. The first is the residence, the second is the pool house. There is a 12' difference in the elevations of the floors. (main house 0-0, pool house -12'-0) Should I open a new plan for the pool house, then send it to the same layout as the residence or is there a better method? Thanks in advance. Lane
  6. I probably should have learned how to do this back in the 90's. When I use the "tile window" buton, and there are two windows open, one for the plan view and one for the layout view, how do close the layout view without closing the layout itself? Thanks in advance. Lane
  7. I always use the save button, and/or the save as with the same name. I would have to think about that for layer sets. Lane
  8. Michael_Gia, Inconsistent with what i normally do, I actually did save each plan view. Why the "never save" in the plan view db?
  9. hmmm, ok trying again with the plan 12-10-2023 Revised Floor Plan.zip
  10. I drew this plan with 1/4"=1' for both dimensions and text. I saved the plan view. Then I duplicated the plan view, and gave it the name "1/8". I changed the default dimensions to 1/8"=1' for both dimensions and texts. I changed the text and dimensions from 1/4" to 1/8". I saved the plan view and closed it. When I opened the 1/4" Saved Plan View (the one I duplicated to make the 1/8" Saved Plan View) all of the dimensions and text were at 1/8". Even thought they are different saved plan views with different properties for the text and dimensions, they will not operate independently of each other. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance, Lane
  11. Glennw, yes, thats it. Thanks, Lane
  12. Hello Mark, I am just down the road from you in Newburgh. I'll give that a try tomorrow, thanks.
  13. Thanks, I tried that, but the program will select all rows, but not let me edid the new dimension row. Maybe I need to call technical support. Lane
  14. In past versions there was as option to make all the offsets from marked objects the same. In X15, there is a chart which lists each dimension string offset and the ability to control each one. I liked the old way better, is there an option in X15 to change all of the distance to the marked object at the same time? Thanks in advance. Lane
  15. I've only done one so far, and it was for an addition. I have to check to see if the same applies to New Build as Additions/Alterations. Thanks! Lane
  16. Is anyone familiar with the New York Stretch Energy Code? I know it has requirements for window and door U values, hook up for electric vehicle charging, increased insulation requirements, but what else? Thanks in advance, Lane
  17. Thanks Gene. It has to stay at two risers because the existing stairs are two risers. If I was doing it from scratch, I would make the difference 14" so the risers would be 7" and the treads 11". I'll change the walls back to the default top wall height as you suggested.
  18. This plan has two different floor elevations, but the top plate elevations should be the same. One floor is 16" higher than the other. The ceiling height in this floor is 97-1/8". The lower floor ceiling height is 113-1/8" (97-1/8"+16"). Everything shows up correctly in the structure dialog box, but when I do a cross section the floor elevations are correct but the top plate heights are different. How do I correct this before I put the roof on this building? Zip file attached. I am using X15. Thanks in advance, Lane 12-10-2023 Revised Floor Plan.zip
