  1. Called CA support and they confirmed a calc. Error on piers and will fix it
  2. Just called support at CA Head Office Support and yes the team member concurred that material list does not calculate properly on piers and they will send out an update to X8 to fix the issue .

  3. I also tried by drawing foundation wall and inserting piers under manually and it still doesn't calculate properly
  4. yes the 100 " x 8" foundation walls which calculate correctly and also the 4" slab which calculates correctly if you have time build a simple plan and build a foundation with piers and grade beam and you will see what I am talking about . maybe the program is thinking its a solid continuous footing
  5. I was wondering if there is a way to get into settings to set the proper formulae for calculating this.
  6. I did this because on my other plan the calculation was wrong . each pier should calculate to about 1/3 cu. yd.
  7. I just created a foundation with grade beam and piers on a one room building to test the calculation for 20 piers 12' deep by 12" dia, it calculates to 111 cu yds on materials list specifically described on list as concrete piers.
  8. i am having a problem with the material for concrete piers not calculating correctly . has any one else had that problem and how can I fix it
  9. my name is Rick I just purchased Chief Architect Premier VI in April 2104 I am a Finish Carpenter and have no previous experience with Drafting or drawing . I have always wanted to learn how to do drawings and presentation layouts for different renovation projects for customers and also for permit applications. I am learning so much from the online videos and its been and is a very good learning experience. This is an awesome drawing program and very helpful . It is a bit costly but worth every penny. My drafting knowledge has grown tremendously and my drawings have impressed my clients and gives them a much clearer picture of the end result of the project. if any user has any ideas on drawing stairs and stairwells for split levels I could use some help. I need the stairs to go up from basement level two floors up . my problem is how to create a flowing stairwell for the stair and have it create proper raked ceilings. . much appreciated
