My C drive is a 500GB SSD and my secondary drive is a!TB and is where I keep all my files that are not program or OS related. The archive file keeps getting larger and eating space on the SSD. I would like to locate on my D drive. Is there a way to change the archive directory?

Right. Got it Thanks.

Exactly what I was thinking but how do you tell it to have no drywall? Rifling through the room dbx and must be missing something.

How are folks handling an unfinished plumbing or mechanical chase.

That'l work. Thanks Jon.
-
Jon, Same scenario. as the louvers only work where the window frame is vertical.

Ray, The lites are disabled when you change the window shape to a triangle.

Like the attached is there a way to manipulate a rectangle one? I searched and found no real results so am thinking it is something simple.

decimal feet displaying feet with decimal inches
DBearss replied to DBearss's topic in General Q & A
Sorry, Was away. Thanks for helping with this but my frustration continues. Dimension defaults are set up for decimals but am still getting feet and decimal inches. -
I have my dimension number style to display as decimal feet however the dimensions are showing as feet with decimal inches. How do I get my site dimensions to display in decimal feet?

Gene, You are correct. Our energy code required that the slab edge be isolated from the exterior wall. Otherwise the slab edge would have to be insulated on the exterior. TYPICAL WALL - INSULATED SLSLAB EDGE.pdf

Alex, The slab with footing is a simple workaround. Had not explored the slab tool much. Thanks.

Here is the typical interior footing. see picture. I will post plan as well. Thanks.

Its common here in the northwest to have perimeter stem walls with a slab on grade and interior thickened slab or monolithic footings. Top of slab flush with top of stem wall. I can get the perimeter walls to work like I want but am struggling with the interior thickened slab. Even if I change defaults and draw manually I cannot get the interior wall to be a thickened slab or monolithic. I searched for a discussion but found none. I also tried building foundation as monolithic slab and then tried deleting the perimeter and creating manually but when changing the default the mono footing also change. Is there any way to have two types of footings in the same plan?

Thanks Jere, I have some conditions where they will be placed in floor framing. Was hoping the framing would auto frame around. Easy enough to do it manually.
-
That's cool. Thanks

We are seeing a lot of interest in the mini split HVAC units with ceiling mounted cassettes. This is a product that needs to integrate with the framing. Any chance there is a library object around? would be great to place and have the framing recognize it and frame around.

I guess the only directory I wish to relocate is the archives as this one seems to grow quite quickly. However, again how would I change that directory path? The Preferences / Program Paths dbx doesn't have any editing options.
-
So how do I go about setting those directories? In the "Program Paths" dbx there is no way to change the directory path.
-
My C drive is an SSD and starting to get filled up. I would like to move some of CA files to my data drive. Understanding that is best to keep file path as default but am wondering if I can safely change the archives folder. And if so....How? Preferences/Folders gives options for a few but selecting All Program Paths just provides a list.

Figured out there is post with footing tool. Duh.

So I select straight foundation wall and create a wall 8" long. If not attached to the foundation under the building then there is no wall on top of the footing and the top of the footing is placed at the top of the wall. If a manually created foundation wall is attached to the existing it builds a short wall. Why is it different?
-
I am stumped by this. Am sure there is a way to do manually but am missing something. I tried just manually building a foundation wall 8" long but only creates a footing. And the top of the footing is placed at the top of the foundation.
