Thanks for the replies. Carrie, I was hoping it was something already in the program that I just haven't been able to access. It would be helpful to me as I work, but others may have already figured a better way of doing roofs. Renerabbit, I appreciate your time, and enjoy all your videos & tips. I've learned a lot through them. I do work with a PC, and I will try the work around you suggest. I was just hoping it was something already within the program. I'm not a computer programmer, just an old carpenter trying to learn CA. Weird thing is, most of what I have difficulty drawing, I could frame it quicker than I can draw it. Hello, I was wondering how to create a macro for roof specifications, mainly, baseline, ridge and top plate height. I can access all the information by opening up each roof plane, but when I'm working on what I consider a complicated roof, it would just be helpful to insert the information on each roof plane as I'm working. Then I could easily use it for reference and comparison purposes. Because my memory isn't very good, I usually have to write down all the information as I'm working to glance at as needed. I created one for room specs that I use often when I'm working on my platforms, but there isn't any information in the macros list to access roof specs. Keith Kitchell Version 18

Hello, I'm a retired General Contractor that works with homeowners & contractors to provide construction drawings to pull necessary permits. I find myself: Desiring to learn more about Chief Architect to cut production time, but not wanting to go to the expense & trouble of travelling to a training seminar; and Watched a lot of helpful videos provided by CA; but Getting frustrated on certain areas that I know there's an answer to, but for some reason can't find; and Wishing there was some local help that could assist me; and I looked for a user group already established, but couldn't find one. If you are in the same boat, I would like to facilitate a meeting of like minded CA users that would meet at my house, just south of Nashville, not far from the Cool Springs area. The meeting would simply be helping each other out with various problems we are facing with CA. I realize there will be varying degrees of expertise, but hoping everyone will benefit in some way. If you are interested in such a meeting, please email me. I will evaluate the interest by April 15th, and set up a meeting sometime in June/July 2026 and will email everyone my address.
