  1. I have a question regarding exporting of a Chief X11 plan via USB. On the computer, all files are linked to a folder (Notes, Details, Sections, etc.). After copying the file to a USB, I open up the Layout file, and it says that some of the files are not located in the plan? What is your recommendation, as this is frustrating when sharing a project to another associate?
  2. David, Many thanks for this tip! It looks like the secret is to export as .3DS file, then "drag and drop" into SketchUp. I first tried opening the saved .3DS file in SketchUp and it wouldn't allow it. After dragging and dropping, it created the wireframe model and allowed materials to be used with the new model
  3. Do you export as a "Perspective Full Overview" or just a Plan View?
  4. I was wondering if we have a way to export an entire model from CA X11 into SketchUp 2019? I've tried Collada, DWG, 360 Panorama, etc., with no luck. I import all of the time from SketchUp, and wondering if we have a way to export to SU?
  5. After removing the old version of X11, I downloaded another version from CA, and it's working perfectly now! Many thanks for all of the comments and help
  6. Loaded another plan file and tried Raytrace. It keeps giving the Windows 10 "spinning blue doughnut" and then the error message. Going to delete this version of X11 and start over
  7. Same thing after rebooting. I was just rendering on X10 with a different plan file, and it made 2 passes without any problem. I think I may have a buggy version of X11. Am thinking of uninstalling X11 and downloading another version again.
  8. Bizarre...I'm going to quit X11 and reboot to see if it clears it out, then reload the test plan file
  9. Here's the plan that will not allow Raytracing Chief_Test_Plan.plan
  10. Graham, it's 24.21.13.9924 driver date 9/5/2018; file version 2.1 NVIDIA Build_224; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
  11. I tried using my regular driver that I've been using for X10 without any problems. I tried it with X11 and got an error message. I asked Dan Bauman about it and he suggested upgrading the driver, which I did. Still got the error message and won't allow me to Raytrace?
  12. Thank you guys! Eric, I reviewed all of your settings and it worked. I'm going to post a separate thread on Raytracing with X11 as I'm getting an error message after updating driver
  13. Please see attachment on toe kick set at "0" for both settings. Mine is not working like yours?
  14. Here's the plan file in X11 X11_test_plan_for_Chief_Users.plan
  15. Here's X11 standard and bow front cabs - both have the vertical fin
  16. I'm thinking it might be something to do with X11 and eliminating the toe kick? Here's a standard front in X10 and another with bow front in X10. The bow front has something on right side running all way down to floor? I tried X11 with standard face and the vertical "fin" still shows up. I'll upload the plan file for review and comment
  17. Graham, I'm not having any luck with the setting you recommend. Please see attachment. There is something in the back of the cab that does not allow for removal? Not sure how to get rid of it
  18. I'm using X11 (or X10) and am having difficulty with trying to make a "floating bathroom cabinet"? I've tried everything and not sure how you would do this?
  19. Thanks for the comments! I downloaded Nanawall details on Chief as well as David Michael Design's as well. They work well in plan and elevation views, but do not show up in the 3-D view for the door schedule? The door frames show up in the 3-D door schedule, but the actual Nanawall doors do not. I hope CA will eventually update this to include Nanawall or LaCantina doors in their door schedules
  20. I have a project where the homeowners want folding doors out to their patio in several locations. I imported NanaWall's detail, but it's just a CAD block. The check mark "include in door schedule?" dbx was checked, but it doesn't show up in the door schedule? Also, I was hoping to show the doors folding to one side in their "open position". I'm using X10 and have been using CA since 1998. Could you help with this series of questions?
  21. Thanks for your help! As always, appreciate the tips

  23. I'm having difficulty with X9 and how to draw a curved "serpentine" patio wall? Please see attachment of this short garden wall with cap stone seating area.
