How to work with columns and windows (Tuscan style)

Yes, I know Tuscan style is so out of style, but I'm working on an as-built and want to put this detail in the drawing. See attached photo of what I'm trying to accomplish. Windows are set way back. Columns on either side of the window with pedestals below. My problem is I can't figure out how to "bury" the column in the wall or remove part of the wall where I want the column. Any advice would be appreciated.

 

I tried using a niche on the outside of the wall, but it won't let me take the niche of the outside edges of the window wells.

16" wall, windows set back 1'.  I added (2) 2' square windows between the arched units, 0 separation, no framing and mulled them together.  I colored the glass in the 2 square windows stucco and added the 4" columns 10"x10".  Here's another view with the 3 arched windows as passthroughs.

 

 

After I changed all units to pass-throughs, I added a wall 1" behind the one above with arched windows 4" smaller that the arched passthroughs and cased them.

 Pretty close.  Hope this helps.

Thanks, John. How do you set back the windows? I can't find that control.

John, thanks for the tips. I ended up figuring it all out. Instead of making the rectangular window a stucco finish, I added a 3D solid on the inside (made it drywall) and then added a second 3D solid on the outside and made that stucco.

In the Window DBX last line under "Sash" allows you to inset the windows.
