Hi! My name is Chris Amato, and I'm the Owner / Builder at CMM Custom Homes. CMM has been designing and building homes along the Jersey Shore since 1983 — Avon-by-the-Sea, Belmar, Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Manasquan, Wall, Bay Head, Point Pleasant Beach, Brick, and more.

We've got the plans. We've got the projects. What we need is someone who lives in Chief Architect and can turn our drawings into accurate models — on an ongoing basis, not a one-and-done gig.

The Opportunity

This is not a one-off, crank-out-a-render-and-disappear job. We want a long-term partner who becomes our go-to for production. We handle the design direction, the client relationships, and the building. You help us make the plans look as good as they'll be built — accurately, every time.

Some plans are clean. Some are messy. That's construction. The right person reads markups, asks the right questions, sweats the details, and keeps things moving.

What You'll Do

  • Site plan accuracy — grades, setbacks, lot lines, and placement that actually match the survey. No guessing.
  • Architecturally accurate white box models — clean, correct massing and structure straight from our construction docs.
  • Basic Landscape plans — simple, clean layouts to give our homes context and curb appeal.
  • Ongoing, recurring work — we have a steady pipeline, so this is consistent volume, not a trickle.
  • Work confidently from our plans, markups, and instructions, and flag what doesn't add up.

The Right Fit

You know Chief Architect cold (latest version a big plus). You've got real residential experience and can read a set of construction documents like a novel. You're organized, you communicate clearly, you hit reasonable turnaround times, and "close enough" isn't in your vocabulary. Most of all — you want a long-term working relationship, not just a quick paycheck.

To Throw Your Hat In, Send Us:

  1. Examples of your Chief Architect work — site plans and white box / architectural models especially
  2. Years of experience with Chief Architect
  3. Your rate
  4. Availability (hours per week)
  5. Your time zone

Reply here or email us at design@teamcmm.com. We'd love to see what you can do.  Thank you!
