susistrothman
Hello! I'm hoping someone can help. I am running Chief x17 on a Mac. This morning I opened my Project file from my computer, it was added to my Project Browser, and I started working in all three of the files within it (two Plans and one Layout). Over the course of about 2 hours, I had the same error happen four times. While working in my Layout file, I get a pop up alert that my As Built Plan reference does not exist, all the views from it that I sent to my Layout file are broken, and that I need to relink. This is a normal error I am used to seeing when I delete a Plan or change the naming conventions of the Plan or layers. However, today none of the things that would trigger this have been changed and the pop up timing is completely spontaneous mid-work not when I open the Layout. When I try to relink the views, I am unable to because my As Built Plan file is completely empty - no plan, no saved camera views, no Plan Views, no Layer Sets. The As Built Plan file also looks strange - the usual never ending white drawing space actually looks like a blank Layout page (image attached). I deleted the Project file from my Project Browser, reopened it from my computer, hard restarted Chief, restarted my computer, all the usual "weird tech issue fixes". My Chief is fully up to date and I have not recently imported anything, strange or otherwise. Edited March 25 by susistrothman
CarrieS
Hi, When you have an issue like this my first recommendation is to Export Logs (Help> Export Logs) at the first opportunity. This will take a snapshot of the state of the program at the time of the error. Then give a call to our Technical Support team. We'll be able to help you investigate what happened and help you recover if possible. Technical Support is available via phone at 208-292-3400 Mon-Fri 7am-4pm pacific or through our Technical Support Center.
