Residential Production Drafter – 1099

Davidson Design & Drafting is seeking a Residential Production Drafter experienced in Chief Architect to assist with residential construction documents.

This is a 1099 contractor position focused on production drafting. All design direction, coordination, and engineering concepts are provided. The role is to draft and revise plans to match existing examples exactly.

Scope of Work:

• Draft as-builts, floor plans, elevations, and sections

• Assemble permit-ready residential plan sets

• Apply notes, dimensions, and details per provided examples

• Revise drawings based on redlines

• Maintain consistent layers and annotation sets

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Chief Architect

• Residential experience (ADUs, remodels, additions, garages)

• Comfortable working from markups and redlines

• Ability to closely match existing plan styles

• Reliable communication and turnaround

Details:

• 1099 contractor

• Part-time (~10 hours per week on average)

• Projects located in the Greater Sacramento Area (California)

• Open to out-of-state candidates

• $25–$50 per hour, based on experience

• Paid test assignment required
