Jimmityjay Posted December 2, 2014 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Hey Everyone, I have not been on the forum in a long time. I actually did not know that it had changed addresses. We have decided to put an addition on the side of our house its roughly going to be 15' x 40'. I have attached a picture of the front of our house and a .pdf of the possible layout of the addition. Just to give some clarification when looking at the house or the plan the addition will be off to the left hand sideand will incorporate the second garage, mudroom, and living space on the main floor and bedroom, bathroom, and were not sure what above on the second floor. My question is I would really like the addition to flow with the existing house although I would like some nice architectural design elements worked into the front and side facade. I'm open to all ideas, dormers, turrets, balconies...etc. When its your own house its hard to make a decision when you deal with someone elses its so much easier!.lol Anyways just looking for ideas? dshall Posted December 2, 2014 Share Posted December 2, 2014 My suggestion would be to post the plan as well as an as built with the kitchen in place and let whoever has the time to design it for you with the given parameters. I would bet you will get about 10 different ideas and you could choose the one that works best for you. At the risk of being a bit mean, I do not think you have a lot of experience and I think the plan you show can be vastly improved upon. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will add some more detail to the plan and attach it to this post later on in the week You are correct in regards to designing and Chief I am fairly green. I am the Chief Building Official for a City, so I spend my day reviewing plans, and making sure they are code compliant, the design of the building is not normally my top priority.
