Help with Material Swatch Scale Issue.

Hello hoping someone can advise me.

 

I'm trying to find my way through X12 having used X3 for years. I've downloaded new product catalogues and I've selected a dining table and one of the new material wood swatches. For some reason, the material swatch is blurry and doesn't render correctly on the table. I've had to reduce the size of the swatch from the default 30" x 30" to 1/2" x 1/2" but it still doesn't look right. Is there some setting I have to switch on so the materials render at the correct scale on the furniture? 
 

Can anyone please advise?
