Moving a roof to cover an extended wall

Recommended Posts

Hello, we extended the wall of this room out and I am trying to figure out how to move the roof out to cover the wall with the same overhang I am using. Every time I move it, the roof does not connect correctly. Does anyone know how I can just pull that section of the roof out to where it will still stay connected to the remainder of the house roof and completely cover the room?

If that's an auto return, you will need to remove it and draw in a manual roof plane.

I am pretty new to the software. We already had the house built in on the program but adjusted the plans with new modifications and extending the room was one of them. We are using Chief Architect Premier X9.

Do you want that entire roof area -- the gable included to move forward, or just the short section of roof in front of the gable?

I would like the entire roof area over that room to move forward to extend over the extended wall.

When I'm building my roof, I put in a dimension for my roof overhang and it doesn't matter what number I put in the dialog box, it only draws it at 20" deep. What am I doing wrong? I need to fix this so I can draw my roof lines correctly and send out for a roofing quote. I am using Chief Architect Premier X12.
      Thank you, Melissa

      Hey All,
Please help me to create roof over a floor without walls but with only beam/pillars. I want it to be open terrace but covered from above.

      Hello,
I have a soffit that just wants to be angled. I auto created the roofs and this happened. So I deleted that part and made my own - same thing. So I mirrored the rear roof at 45 into place - same thing. I have included the plan - anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

Is there a quick way to do this roofline? I tried putting another level above but its not working. I've done this years ago but can't get it now
