Thank you I got it. So I have not figured out the controls, Micheal's solution did nor solve it. I tried all the dimension tools and even though the snap targets appear there are no dimensions. I have looked through all the layers and settings to see. I have not yet found a solution. looking for guidance here, David in looking through your signature bar it would appear you might have a solution or at least know a way to have the software bend to my will. What is it you suggest? A step by step procedure would be great. I did try the point to point dimension tool and no results.

I tried this it did not allow me to create either automatic dimensions or manual. Thank you

I have an exterior wall that I have placed a 5'0 slider in. I opened the object changed the framing to a 4x10 header and 2 trimmers. When I select the wall and open wall details it still only shows 1 trimmer and the header size has not changed. Please advise me how to get the changes to appear in the .wall detail.

Thank you, Micheal, does this affect the floor plan view over all? I just want to add dimension to the wall detail view and not alter the dimensions on the floor plan.

I can generate the wall frame detail from the the wall detail button. I can edit the members, but how do I add dimensions to it to send to layout.

Where is the break in the picture? Nice Drop. Yes I think so! How do I add dimension? Also which catalog has the standard construction notes in it?

Hi a quick update, I have looked through the camera views and toggled different layers on and off. Getting closer. In the "frame" set toggled everything off but wall framing and sill plate. The siding still remained visible. In the 3D framing view it was too busy with all the walls in the back ground. Does anybody have a suggest later view set for what I am out to achieve. Or am I on the wrong path here. Thank you

Thank you in advance for your support. I can create exterior elevations which render in 3D with the skins. But I can not convert them to a framing view. I wish to show the current elevation view, then next to it in the layout file the proposed new elevation, Then create the detail drawings for each proposed new wall opening. I was thinking I could take a elevation shot of the opening and have it show as a framing view and send it to the layout page. Thank you Don

Could you elaborate a little more? Here is what I am doing. I go to 3D / Create orthographic view / elevation. Then place the camera that is associated with the provided Icon. I am using CA Premier X7 Sorry I replied before fully checking out your response THANK YOU !!!!

No Matter where I place my camera I get an error box that says I cannot do it from this position. See attached thumbnail. I have move the camera to all the exterior sides. Made sure it is mid wall and perpendicular. Even tried from the corner just to see. I am unclear if there is a setting I missed or what ....Any input would be greatly appreciated. elevation dialog.pdf
