So how do you fix this same issue if the automatic roof is turned off (custom roof) and also the roof is over a timber frame structure with no gable walls??? This is the kind of stuff that is annoying about Chief software

Tried all of these and no luck, the interior door labels show through the walls only in layout file but not in my plan file.

I am having this same problem... I am using a template from X8 and opening it for the first time in X9. I tried making a new cross section / elevation view but the problem still occurs... Any help please? thanks

I know what your saying ShaneK, i can do that but am wondering why I have to make extra steps to create something that the software should do as designed. We are paying a hefty price for this thing why cant it work correctly? thanks tho i appreciate the help

I find that Chief doesn't like to redraw things correctly. The software draws things great the first time but when I make alot of changes Chief doesn't seem to understand things anymore and I see a lot of issues happening (or glitches as i like to call them) Am i off base in saying this or do you hear this a lot from others? thanks

ok i attached a JPEG, it would not let me attach the .plan file as it says it is over 25MB but it is not actually only 13MB so not sure why that won't work. The road stripes that are correct are drawn as slabs and the one road stripe that is floating is an actual road stripe. I started deleting things in the drawing to see if other attributes were forcing the road stripe to move and it didn't get back down to the correct height until almost entire plan was erased...? funny thing is when i added the road stripe it worked fine than about 30 min later it was in the air. I try and erase and redraw but its stuck up there.... Sorry for the long winded email but its confusing the crap out of me...

I have drawn a building with shared parking spaces with "road stripes" to divide the parking spaces. Can anyone tell me why they would be floating in the air now? Is this a common problem like a lot of other chief architect commands? frustrating...!

That was my thought in the end but hoping there was something else. Thanks for the help!

I have set my number of border planks to 1, and also checked automatically regenerate deck framing but still nothing
-
It is a row of deck planking around the outside edge of a deck (similar to trim around a window) The setting is found under the "room specification" dialogue box in the "deck" heading. When i set my number of border plans to anything except 0, it doesn't show on 3d views. Thanks
-
Wondering if someone can help me understand why my deck borders are not showing up on 3D views? thanks JUNK.plan

ok thanks for the help people! I sort of got it figured out

Yes I understand that but im looking for a round window that is flat at the bottom as it hits the floor, it's not straight on the sides rather a round window and flat on the bottom? Can the program even do that? thanks for help

Does anyone know how to make this large curved window in chief like in the picture attached? Thanks Doc1.pdf
-
The one on the left is "Perscriptive Floor Overview" and the one on the right is "Orthographic Floor Overview"
-
I just saw that myself Jonathan...works great now except it doesn't show windows and doors well in the "Orthographic Floor overview because your looking at it staright on instead of a slight angle like the "Perspective Floor Overview" But its really starting to look good now.
-
thanks fellas appreciate it!

Thanks for the reply. How is a ray trace done on this 3D overview (without shadows) Is your pics a ray trace or just the 3D Overview?
-
I'm wondering how to delete shadows from a ray trace in a "Perspective Floor Overview" floor plan. I'm trying to use a floor plan for a color rendering presentation but the shadows are overwhelming on the drawing. Thanks! Also can chief architect not do a straight on shot from above similar to floor plan view but show the colors of a 3-D ray trace drawing? (like the ones you see in brochures all the time???
