Send me an email: ethan@totalhomebuilder.com I have been designing in chief for over 15 years. I have a civil engineering degree and around 20 years of construction experience. In addition to design, I am also an experienced project manager and estimator. I'd be happy to discuss your needs. I would be available M-Th 6-11(PST) and friday 6-5(PST) If more hours are needed, I am available after hours to make up the difference. Thank You, Ethan Forns -

Thanks Chopsaw, that was the setting I needed.

I have set my terrain elevation by changing the "subfloor height above terrain" in the Terain Specification dialogue. This models the drawing the way I want, with the terrain showing where it should. I left everything flat, no contours. But when I use the story pole dimension, the grade level shows as 0.0 still. Am I missing something? How do I change the grade elevation on the story pole dimension?

You must have a current NJ architect license and be able to professionally stamp drawings. I am a general contractor based out of Westwood. I had a company in New Hampshire for 10 years prior to relocating to NJ. I also have a degree in Civil Engineering(no stamp, EIT) I use chief extensively. I am looking for an architect to partner with for residential work. Most projects will only require construction plans for permits to be prepared. I would have sketches(drawn in Chief) that would need to be verified and drawn for permit submital. I may have some beam designs at times also. I was wondering if this is something someone could offer? I have an addition project coming up that will need plans ASAP. Simple 18x18 addition off the rear of a house, and a relocation of the existing house stairs. You can reach me at 201-497-4326 or via email. How about using the stair railing, and just adding newels separately? 1. Overlay a newel on top of the stair newel, make sure the stair newel is the same style and size. 2. Make the stair newel transparent (opening No material) Now the railings are auto generated correctly, and the newels look right. If you want the railings to drop on a flat surface, then add a ramp and choose no bottom rail on the stairs.

If the bottom of your windows are all the same, you can also just add 2 wainscottings 1. as a baseboard, and offset it from the bottom and make it the height of the window distance from floor. 2. as a chair rail, offset from the top as the height of the panel
