  1. I have several mulled windows and when the Label is set to Automatic a single ID is added to the plan such as W-10 MU and it shows as a single mulled unit in the Window Schedule.  However if I change the Label to Show separate units they appear as two separate windows even though the window DBX shows them as Mulled.

How can the person ordering the windows know to order these two windows as a mulled unit?

Also how can I add text to the Comments box for each window.  I added text in the Component window but it doesn't show up in the window schedule and I don't see anywhere to add comments in the Window DBX.

    Thanks

How can you save camera views when you don't have anything to go by?  For instance when I use the tool to create the four elevation views it locates the cameras in the correct position away from the building to allow space for the dimensions strings.  With a template you don't know what size the building will be.

    Thanks

  3. Okay that is a good way of doing it as long as you don't want to use any of the those fields for their intended purpose.  I think I'll make a suggestion to CA to add that field.

  4. I was setting up a layout so I went intoTools>Project but there seemed to be an important option missing that was the Project Title.  I looked at adding a text box on Sheet 0 with a macro but there was no macro.

I still can't find where to set the project title to appear on all sheets. Am I looking in the wrong places or is there no macro for it?
    Thanks

I guess I shouldn't have used the word stud.  If for instance the manufacturer adds a filler between the individual windows to mull them together and that filler is 1½" thick then does setting the Minimum Distance Between Windows to 1½" space them apart 1½"?
    Thanks

  6. I have been setting up my default plan template and for the first time I opened the Project Browser and apart from the CAD Details that I added there are folders for Cameras and Floors (I know what they are) but there are also Wall Details and Material Lists.  Can someone enlighten me as to what they are and what gets put in them.

    Thanks

  7. On a similar note, if I mull 3 28/52 together what should the total length of the unit be?  Is it dependent on how close I put the windows to each other?  If so what is the correct distance between them?  My 3 units are showing in the schedule as W04-10152MU and their total width 121".  Three 32" wide windows should measure 96" right but doesn't the manufacturer but a filler in between each window?

    Thanks

  8. Is there an easy way to automatically add the sheet title in layouts?  At the moment I have to add a rich text box and then on each sheet edit it to read say Foundation Plan or First Floor Plan.  I guess the program would need to know that you are sending a plan from Floor 0 for the foundation, Floor 1 for the first floor etc.

    Thanks

  9. I have several mulled windows but they show up in the schedule as individual windows.  For example one mulled window shows a tag on the plan  as W3 and the other as W8 an din the schedule with individual headers.  Shouldn't they show up as a mulled unit with a common header?
    Thanks

  10. I just noticed that the door and window schedule is showing some doors and windows with the same ID.  They are both the same size but I have several other doors in the plan with the same size but with a unique ID number.

This doesn't sound right to me -- shouldn't all doors and windows have a unique ID number?
    Thanks

  11. I just had an epiphany and can now see where the OSB comes into play.  If we actually build the foundation with the face of block to face of block at 29'-2⅞" then build two stud walls with applied 7/16" sheathing at each end and erect them so the faces of the OSB are aligned with the outside faces of the brick and pull a dimension from outside face of stud to outside face of stud it will be  29'-2⅞" + 4" brick + 1" air gap + 1" air gap + 4" brick less the sheathing (2x 7/16" ) = 30'-0".

I was forgetting that the OSB is flush with the brick so face of block to face of stud is 4" + 1" - 7/16" = 4-9/16".  So 30'-0" less 2 X 4-9/16" = 29'-2-⅞"

So Michael you were right all along -- I just couldn't see it.

    Thanks

  12. I was fiddling around with the door label by using the macros but I can only get the door number (D01, D02 etc) to display and I wanted to have both the number and size to display.  I added the macros for the door number as well as the width and height.  Can someone please let me know where I'm going wrong.

    Thanks
