    I'm not sure if this is a result of the file size, but when I exported my *layout file of interior elevations this is what I got. Right side is CA, left is AutoCad- note the nicely placed upside down vanity. I looked at previous replies on that specific topic, and the settings are as recommended. For this project I need to provide DWG backgrounds to an interior designer, so either I export individual views and then place them on a sheet in AutoCad, OR, much more preferable, I export sheets with multiple views from the layout file. Crap like this drives me crazy, and almost makes me nostalgic for Revit.

    I'm not sharing the file or exporting it, it just seems unwieldy and is a bit slow. My concern is that when I add more sheets with the interior elevation views the file will balloon and become unusable. I'm on Windows Pro 11 and below are my system specs. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing after all : ) Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265K (3.90 GHz) Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable) Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 (16 GB) Storage 246 GB of 932 GB used System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

    My carproj file is 200mb and I am using the project browser/manager. I'm not concerned with sending the file, only the amount of space it takes and the potential the large file may have on my computer performance. I have an existing plan and proposed plan as well as an optional plan--which I will delete once the clients make up their mind. There is no furniture except for a couple of curtains (which the clients wanted to see) which I will delete. @DB Cooper, Thank you for the article, I'll check it out. I do use WeTransfer also.

    Hello all, I am working on a large house and will need to block out interior elevations for almost every room. My file size is already 200M and I'm concerned that adding all the sheets that I need with all the camera views will make the file unworkable. Are there any strategies that I can use to make the file size less unwieldy? I have 43 spaces, and at an average of 4 views per room I'm looking at 132 views. That seems like a lot. Thank you so much for your help!

    @kylejmarshTo get a "clean" number after export you can use the "find and replace" tool in Excel--find all the "sq ft" and replace them with a space, then the numbers read as numbers. It went pretty quickly.

    Yes it is there, but it won't add it to the schedule. So weird! I changed the type to "Bath" and that made it show up.

    I have noticed that neither "Powder Room" or "Mud room" will appear in a Room Finish Schedule, but if I change them to the "Bath" room type and rename them they will. Has this happened to anyone else?

    So here's my conundrum: In plan the wall ends correctly, but in 3D I can see the exterior siding ghosting through the drywall. How can I keep the siding from wrapping the end like this? I even shows up in the wall dialog...Chasing this down seems like a huge waste of time unless it's something simple. Any help is appreciated.     I think it was my graphics card settings and it cleared up. I didn't have the card optimized for CA : (

    Thank you for responding, but no, this happened when I moved the window up. It eventually refills, but I'm wondering if the program is a bit buggy? I'm having other issues that I can't figure out--the object eyedropper doesn't work consistently, for example.

    I am getting back into Chief after a couple of years and am using X17 and am having a heck of a time with it. I relocated a window and the walls did not update, and this isn't the first time. Also, as you can see, my framing isn't being cut at the wall. Has this happened to anyone else and why?
