AI is getting faster every year, and honestly we’re not far from having a tool that can take a 2D PDF plan set and convert it into a usable 3D model. Some programs already do parts of it — like recognizing walls, doors, and dimensions but it’s not fully automatic yet. You still have to clean up the PDF, import it, and trace or correct elements manually.
Still, something like a “PDF → 3D model generator” would save a ton of time for anyone drafting permit sets. If Chief Architect ever adds a true AI overlay tool that reads the plan and builds the model for you… yeah, that would be a total game changing for everyone.
And don’t worry no Skynet. Just something that makes drafting a whole lot easier.
